Well...just got a call. The GTMO job is canceled. So I'm jobless again. At least it happened now rather than after I got to the island.

Yeah. I was mentally prepared to go and had gotten my affairs mostly in order, so it was kind of a wth? But on the other hand I didn't really want to not see my son or gf for a year either, so I can't really muster a ton of disappointment. But, I didn't look for a job for almost a month because this was a done deal, so the lost time is painful. Tomorrow its back to square one job hunting again.
I'm really sorry to hear it. Have you considered becoming an entrepreneur? You're clearly smart enough to do it.
