I'm Forming a Habit

I'm forming a habit. Fortunately, it is a good habit to have. I'm finding it much easier to sit down in front of my story and edit. Yesterday I did three full pages of editing for Chapter 2. I've got a single page left to edit and I'll be done with that Chapter.
Editing is fun. I never thought I'd make that statement. You already have the story in front of you so there isn't a case of figuring out what a character would say or do. It is a matter of making the text read better and expanding upon it. For example, in the first version of Chapter 2, I refered to a year having a particularly bad harvest and the following year having a wolf problem. Both declarations were simple ones and didn't expand more than what I have stated above. In the rewrite, I tell of a dought the first year which made for a very bad harvest. The drought, also drove the animals away to better water supplies which resulted in less food sources for the predators. And, as I hate it when wolves are portrayed as evil, I made sure to specify that the ones killed by the wolves were the older animals.
Note to self: I should mention that the hunters and trappers brought in less game the second year.
I should finish Chapter 2 tonight.
