Infrequent Musings

Well, I decided to use the Hero Forum blog to muse and vent.

At this point, I'm going to ramble on about my Digital Hero offerings in the works.

I'm working on a series (the first one has been published) about fantasy archetypes, and twisting them out of standard default mode - Paladins that aren't holier than thou and aren't "lawful stupid". Clerics that aren't cloistered, or second line fighters with healing capacity. Admittedly many of these archetypes are from D&D, but many many of us come to FH from D&D, so to me, flavorful NPCs are useful things.

I'm nibbling away at the second one - I've the basic idea for three clerics: a Cleric of an interesting god, an unusual Druid, and a Shaman type. I have the idea, but I've had heck's own time getting them written - I was hoping to have then done two weeks ago, and I haven't even finished the write-ups of any of them yet. *Sigh*

I've also been putting together a new magic system, one that I think will turn out pretty cool. I've got about 1/3 of it written up, then to put in all the text descriptions, and flavor.

Other things on the horizon - an article on Familiars, and another couple in the archetype series.

I enjoy the writing, I like to share what I do, and so far, what I make from the writing pays for my Hero books.
