I have too many hobbies. I play basketball in a men's league, National Level tournament paintball, a poker league, and game. The majority of my gaming stems from online play by post at Hero Central these days, but I miss the break-neck speed (compared to pby) of face to face.

Oh, I work at least forty hours a week, I'm married with a twelve year old step-daughter and my daughter (from a previous marriage) is eight now and lives with her mother. That whole triangle is a whole 'nother story altogether. This is simply about trying to balance 'hobbies' and living with another.

Hell, I'm a Libra, balance is supposed to be my specialty. But, apparently, specialty isn't good enough. The people in your life want more of you around. Each of the groups of people associated with the various facets of my life all want more! And, there isn't much overlap in the groups.

I'm almost 37 and the requirements on time seems to be increasing. It's football season and time for Fantasy Football. Which means not only do I have the various commitments to manage my teams, I need to keep up on what is happening around the league, too. Sunday is football day AND paintball day AND the only day I don't work. How much stuff can possibly be crammed into one day? Whoops! Time to mow again.

Wait. I'm running out of time or this blog.

Hummm, My life isn't as crazy as, that but it has its own weirdness. My mom is in her 80's, she is a semi-invalid who is intense pain most of the time. I have to be with her when I’m not working, I just went back to work at the old company I used to work for, having to undergo training for the new way we do things now. Mostly all this means is that I work, stay with my mom and nothing else but surf the web, post on boards, play in two PBEM Champion games. I do get to go to friends once every two-week so I do get to FtF role play some.
I can say this, take what you have and be happy with it. You might be burning the candle at both ends and from the middle, but you at least have a life.

Gotta be hard doing all those things at once, Sav. Maybe you should drop just one of them? Pick the one that gives you the least fun return per investment of time. Bet you won't even miss it.

I hear you. I feel like I am being tugged in a lot of different directions at once as well. And I am not involved in as many things as you are. I agree with Bozimus here. You need to prioritize and make some hard decisions. Pace yourself and learn to say ‘no’. For me, that is really difficult.
