The Last Night on Earth is a zombie survival boardgame. I saw the initial reviews on boardgame geek and got interested in the game. I ordered it through my FLGS who in 20 years has never failed me until now...
I pre-ordered and pre-paid for the game in October of this year. After about a month I realized that they had never told me the game had came in so I talked with the owner. I found out that they had gotten in at least two shipments which had sold out. Apparently the employee who took my original order had never actually ordered me a copy of it. We checked the books and sure enough there was my order but it the paper work had apparently been over looked. After an apology he personally made the order while I was there to be sure I would get my copy.
After a week we found out that the distributor (Alliance) had messed up the order, due to a computer error, and so we had to reorder once again.
The new shipment came in and at about this time a new employee started working at the shop. When the order came in there were several people there looking for the game and he sold out both of the copies they got before he remembered to check the hold list.
Now nearly two months had passed since I made my pre-paid, pre-order and I still didn't have a copy of the game.
About two weeks ago the third special order for my copy was turned in and we found out that Alliance now lists the item as out of stock. The shop owner and I have now found out that Flying Frog, the game's maker, now lists the game as sold out.
I am beginning to think that it is not intended that I get a copy of this game. My FLGS has been great during this time. I have been refunded my money and promised a free copy of the game as soon as it comes back in stock.
This recounting of my tale is just my way of shouting aaaugh!
