Work-a-Day Blues

So I've been back at work for a little over a week now. I still can't lift much and there is still a slight bit of pain and discomfort.
I'm helping out at the reception desk. I'm still on the doctor-ordered light duty, so it's about the only thing I can do.
I got the schedule on Friday, a nice easy regular workweek (9:30 - 6 M-F). Monday, about lunch time, the boss hands me a new schedule and asks me to make copies. I'm making copies and stuff and just check to see if my schedule had changed. I'm not expecting it to, about the only time your hours change is if there is an overtime issue or if there is some kind of change in Receiving that requires you to be around earlier or later than expected.
Boy was I wrong. He cut my hours...HARD. 10 - 5 M-F. 32.5 hours for the week? That's a 4-day work week! Naturally, the minute he put out the new schedule he left. He was off yesterday so I wasn't able to talk to him and get him to change my schedule back.
Isn't that illegal or something? You can't just cut someone's hours because they got hurt at work, it's...it's...it's...not nice! Bastards!
