In 2005, I began studying towards a Bachelor of Computer and Information Science degree as an external student - a degree-by-correspondence, if you will. I got credit for a number of subjects due to already having a Diploma of IT, but I still had to finish 14 subjects. At the same time I was working full-time and helping my wife raise our two kids.

Today I received the results of my last two exams - two Distinctions. That makes the final tally: 4 x High Distinctions, 5 x Distinctions, 4 x Credits and 1 x Pass 1, for a GPA of 5.89. More importantly, I have Graduated - all that is left is for me to attend the ceremony to collect my parchment, and make up to the kids for all the time I spent locked away in my study, studying.
