Mistborn RPG

It seems that Brandon Sanderson (the author of Mistborn: The Final Empire) and Crafty Games (creators of the Spycraft RPG) have gotten together to make a RPG set in the Mistborn universe (author's blog post here, and Crafty press release here).
I will be interested in how they implement the magic system. Spycraft started as a D20 game, and then grew beyond it. But it still feels a lot more like D20 than a separate game system. On the one hand, there is very little in the Mistborn literature that suggests character levels or gaining new abilities as one gains experience. On the other, the real power of Allomancy seems to be in the imagination of its practitioners (i.e. in how they use the power), since the powers are pretty basic in nature. On the gripping hand, I really want to see what they say about using Atium (reveal someone's future actions), zinc (enhance emotions) or brass (suppress emotions) in a player-vs-player situation.
The release is stated only as "2009," so I guess I should hurry up and flesh out my HERO implementation of Allomancy before they beat me to it.
