  1. Mobile App Export Template

This export template will create a HTML5 mobile app that you can use on your phone/tablet/laptop/PC.   I've included a dice roller that is suitable for use in your sessions as a dice replacement...I've ran a session where we used nothing but this app and a pencil and paper and it actually worked out pretty well.  In some cases (particularly around calculating damage) it's actually faster than rolling all those dice and calculating BODY, STUN, KB, etc.

You can use this on a regular PC it is really meant to be run on a mobile device so I would encourage you to try it out that way.  You can also use the developer tools in Chrome to simulate a mobile device dimensions by hitting F12 and hitting ctrl+shift+m...pick the device you want to use.  You could also just shrink your window down real small

    Usage
    Windows and Linux
Install the attached .hde file as you would normally Export your character using the new template Android (Option 1)
Export the character using the new template Save the webpage to your Android device Open Chrome and type in file:///sdcard/<PATH_TO_FILE>.  Example - file:///sdcard/Download/red_star.html Android (Option 2)
Export the character using the new template Save the webpage to your Android device Install a HTML viewer like Visor HTML Browse to the saved webpage from step 2 in your HTML viewer (important - open the file from within the app itself, there's some issue with loading it from the file system that's beyond my ability to fix) Android (Option 3)
Export the character using the new template Save the webpage to your Android device Install a webserver (I recommend kWS Server) Start your server Browse to the saved webpage from step 2 Mac
I'm not a Mac guy but I imagine the usage would be similar to Android...sorry!

  3. Basic Package Deal Export Template

This generates an unformatted HTML output that is similar in layout to package deals/templates as found in the Hero System genre books with a few minor modifications. The actual output is intended to be pasted into a layout program such as Indesign, Scribus, Word, Openoffice, etc. where the actual final formatting is applied. The attached images include examples of actual HTML output, the output pasted in to a text editor (in this case NOTEPAD), and the final result of formatting in a layout program. This uses javascript to overcome some quirks with Hero Designer export templates.

The output has only been tested in the Chrome browser so your mileage may vary.

I have included documentation within the HDE file that hopefully make things clear as to how it works and why it works the way it does.

  4. 6E-HTML-Detailed-Tracking

This export template is a derived work based on The Ultimate Character Sheet version 1.5.4. The template is style-sheet-driven so you can change colors, fonts, and text-sizes easily.
I have tried to make the style class names as human-readable as possible so you understand what content the style class controls.

All layout is done with HTML tables. In general, each page is organized as follows:
Each page has a separate <div> element.
    Each page also has a page-border <table>.
Each page-border table has a header row and one or more body rows.
Each row of the page-border table contains one column (cell).
Each page-border table cell contains one or more content tables.

    The template page order is:
Page 1: Special header with HERO logo
    Characteristics
    Computed values
    Track END, STUN, and BODY
    Experience Points
    Movement
    Complications

    [*]Page 2:
    Normal page header
    Skills
    Perks

    [*]Page 3:
    Normal page header
    Combat Values
    Combat Skill Levels
    Combat Maneuvers
    Range Modifiers
    Called Shots
    Hit Locations

    [*]Page 4:
    Normal page header
    Attack powers
    Defense powers
    Movement powers
    Sensory powers
    Equipment
    Martial arts
    Talents

    [*]Page 5:
    Normal page header
    Powers
    Equipment

    [*]Page 6:
    Normal page header
    Information
    Character image
    Background

For quick reference, here are the template colors:
Background color of headers (dark gray): #4c4c4c
Text color of headers (golden-yellow): #ffcc00
Background color of normal defenses and STUN (light blue): #a8a8ff
Text color of normal defenses and STUN (dark blue): #0000aa
Background color of resistant defenses and BODY (rose red): #ffa8a8
Text color of resistant defenses and BODY (dark red): #aa0000
Background color of END (light green): #8ad18a
Text color of END (dark green): #006b00
Background color of mental defenses and mental combat values (light purple): #feaefe
Text color of mental defenses and mental combat values (dark purple): #660066
Background color of power defenses (light orange): #ffcfa8
Text color of power defenses (dark orange): #ff6600
Text color of power names (orange bronze): #cc6600
Text color of complication names (dark red): #aa0000

    Notes:
Most browsers require extra configuration to print background colors.
You must manually select or clear the resistant defense check-box from the HTML output.

include the herologo.jpg file in the same directory as the outputted character sheet for best appearance (BTW any file 150px wide and 67px high will work in the place as herologo.jpg as long as it has that name)

  8. RTF - Narosia Character Summary - LS

This Export Formats should be used to create output similar to the Summary Format from Legendsmiths's Narosia: Sea of Tears game. The export places Sensory Powers, Attack Powers, and Defense Powers in the appropriate categories, but then repeats them in the Additional Powers and Addtional Equipment section — you will need to edit/delete the duplicates. The format does recognized "CARRIED" items and will only list carried items in the Sensory, Offense, or Defense sections.

I've uploaded 2 sample files. The first is the raw output. There are always some things that you will want to clean up, or rearrange. This can be accomplished quickly, and you can see that even 30 seconds of rearranging can get you to the layout you want. Especially with multipowers, VPPs, equipment, etc, there just is no right way to automatically arrange all the things.

HD's handling of images limits support of images to JPEGs. Additionally, image size definition from HD is in pixels while RTF requires twips and there is no way that I have discovered to perform the necessary x15 conversion to get the dimensions right. However, the image is output onto a single page for various reasons and as part of the post output touch-up can simply be resized.

Pages 1-2 actually work well as a vertical "tent" of sorts. If printed double-sided, fold it in half and place the image side towards the other players. That leaves pages 3-4 as the character reference sheet and puts the character's Complications front and center.

Shields, and multipowers in general, are impossible to put into the proper categories. I probably spent way too much time fiddling with REGEX to try and get the Shield to fall under Defenses on its own and I just can't do it reliably.

Only those Powers not listed elsewhere (PERCEPTION, MOVEMENT, DEFENSE, OFFENSE) are listed here. For Narosia, this works out pretty well and keeps the sheet clean.

Equipment is listed in a summary and a complete format. Delete the one you don't want. Weapons and Armor should show up under Offense and Defense, as well as magic items related to Senses and Movement. The complete Shield output in MP style is included as well so you can just copy/past it under Defense (the only solution I could come up with).

Skill levels are another tricky beast that I decided it wasn't worth the potential errors in logic to try and solve. Combat-related levels show up under offense but then get duplicated under Skills. Delete as you like.

This format does work in LibreOffice (pretty well)with the exception of font specification. MS Word and LO handle font tags slightly differently and do not agree that Lithos Pro Bold and Lithos Pro (Bold) are the same font. If you don't have Lithos Pro, it should use Arial instead.

Powers are fully listed in the Powers section. This differs from the Narosia Character Summary where only the powers that haven't been listed in the other sections are listed. Delete anything that you feel is redundant.

Weight carried vs. Lift (Primary Strength) is listed for you to calculate Encumbrance. Unfortunately there is no way to get the Total Weight Carried as a number from HD so even though I could do more to autocalc Encumbrance, I just can't get that one critical piece of information as a numerical value (btw — I've looked at the code and also asked, TOTAL_CARRIED includes the type of metric so cannot be used in MATH).

  10. 6e HTML Tasha's Ultimate Character Sheet

This character export sheet looks different than the plain black and white sheets. It is styled to match the colours of the rule books and is done in a fun highly legible style. It has the functionality of the default character sheet, but has the following differences:

Collates all combat information including Attack Powers, Defense Powers, Sensory Powers, Equipment and Martial Maneuvers in a special page block. Along with useful combat stats, combat values, combat modifiers, and hit locations tables.

Powers, Equipment, Talents, Martial Arts, Skills, Perks, and Complications are in a wider single column format.

Any notes you've included in the Hero Designer will be now be visible!

Respects any formating you've done to your powers or abilities. Numbered list titles and numbering.

Skills, abilities rolls, and Endurance costs clearly visible along the left hand side. Point costs on the right.

Split into 4 pages for cleaner printing.

The character image is on the 1st page with characteristics, personality, quotes, background and descriptive information. Now keeps line breaks!

6E HTML The Ultimate Character Sheet v1.4

This version 1.4 has been updated and a few corrections to some broken maths by lou_tennant, 14th May 2014.

Split into 4 pages for cleaner printing.
The character image is on the 1st page with characteristics, personality, quotes, background and descriptive information.
The recommended picture size: 288px wide. The image should be anywhere from 352px to 442px tall.

The file "herologo.png"; needs to be included in same directory as the export file.

If the character has an image associated with it and you want to have that image included in the HTML output, you will need to save that image into the same directory as the HTML file when you export (the export wizard will prompt you to save the image).

  14. 5eHTML_SupersUltimate_CS_v1_1.hde

    5E HTML Superhero Character Sheet

This template (created in February 2014, by lou_tennant (aka David Dobson)) is based on the 6E Ultimate CS (uploaded by Hyper-man, originated by desaturated - which was based on a file by Dan Simon).

This character sheet looks very different from the plain black and white sheets. I have adjusted the colours and elements of the layout - including reducing it from four sections to two sections.

I have removed and simplified certain areas to focus on a Super-heroic/Champions style of game. So things like Hit Locations and the Combat Manoeuvres charts have been removed.

Whilst I have made changes, using the 4-colour comics for inspiration, it still maintains a clear connection to the original styling/layout of the 6E Ultimate CS (uploaded by Hyper-man, originated by desaturated - which was based on a file by Dan Simon), on which it is based.

    Features:
Collates combat information including Attack Powers, Defence Powers, Equipment and Martial Manoeuvres. Along with useful combat stats, combat values, and combat modifiers.
The layouts for Powers, Equipment, Talents, Martial Arts, Skills, Perks, and Disadvantages (was Complications in 6E Ultimate CS, but this is for 5th Ed) have been amended, to provide a two-column section in places to aid with usability.
As per 6E Ultimate CS; notes are included, and it will respect any formatting you've done to your powers or abilities. Numbered list titles and numbering, etc.
Skills, abilities rolls, and Endurance costs clearly visible along the left hand side. Point costs on the right.
The character image is on the 1st page with characteristics. The recommended picture size: 288px wide. The image should be anywhere from 352px to 442px tall.
The version (timestamp) of the character is included in the footer of each section to help with multiple copies.

IT DOES NOT currently include the Hero Game logo (I am working on making space) as the previous location I felt could be better used in the reworked layout. Once it has been included The file "herologo.png"; needs to be included in same directory as the export file.

  15. D 3-ColumnCompressed.hde

This is a modification of the Champions3-Column Compressed. I have removed the champions logo and move the picture (if there is one) under the name in the left column.

In particular I have added a 'version' on the character sheet giving you a date and time stamp to help you know if it is the most recent copy.

The ".jpg" file should be placed in the same location as the character is being exported to.
If the character has an image associated with it and you want to have that image included in the HTML output, you will need to save that image into the same directory as the HTML file when you export (the export wizard will prompt you to save the image). The image should be no wider than 240 pixels and no longer than 348 pixels.

RTF - Vehicle Sheet Deric Page
    HERO System Sixth Edition
    Type: Single Character
    File Extensions: RTF
This template will produce an output the same as the published vehicles with a bold line under each main heading.

It includes the vehicle picture if one exists (it needs to be a jpg). This makes it easy, using your text editor of choice, to print just the page(s) you want.

You will need to do a couple things to make it work properly and look the same as the published vehicles.

You will need to create 5 lists on the Powers tab labeling them: Power Systems, Propulsion Systems, Tactical Systems, Operations Systems, and Personnel Systems in that order. Use this only for catagorization don't add anything to the lists. You should also add a separator before each one except the first. Once the vehicle is created delete any list headings that you didn't use.
Make sure that on the Martial Arts tab you have a list, and that list name is "Martial Arts:(2 spaces)" followed by the name of the martial art
On the background tab or any notes tabs you should type a tab before each paragraph
After exporting you may want to delete default movement that hasn't been increased

Please feel free to send me comments or corrections regarding the template.

RTF - RMV Character Brief Roland Volz
    HERO System Sixth Edition
    Type: Single Character
    File Extensions: RTF
This template is based on Robert Miller's WG Character Brief template for 5th edition Hero System. It includes all fields necessary to create the Character Brief; however some pre- and post-editing will need to be done in certain areas as follows:

On the Martial Arts tab, make sure to start with a list at the top written as "Martial Arts:(2 spaces)" and then the name of the martial art
The Maneuvers should not be list members. In other words there should NOT be numbers at the beginning of each line
Movement will need to be edited to show only the relevant movement method and the non-combat speed added after the "/"
Normal Characteristic Maxima and Age will need to be sorted in the Disadvantages list prior to your export each time
All other Writer's Guidelines formatting should be done within Hero Designer as needed

I have included Robert Miller's macro, that will finalize the WG formatting, with the zip file that this template came from. It will assume that you did the items in the list above.

Please feel free to send me comments or corrections to either the format or the macro

  25. RTF - Compact 6E (SH) Shane Harsch

RTF Compact 6E (SH) Shane Harsch
    HERO System Sixth Edition
    Type: Single Character
    File Extensions: RTF
The layout is a clean two column format with indenting and bolding for clarity. The Hero System logo is in the document, and nearly all character tags/information are included. Redundant information is avoided (e.g. STUN is listed only once).

Sections are by column. Usually you can condense a character to 2 pages just by rearranging sections.

The RTF in this format is only supported by MS Word, which is supported with the MS Word Viewer (http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=4).

    Other Notes
    * All skill levels put along side Combat Skill Levels
    * Encumbrance is only displayed if you have equipment
    * Equipment lists in a more "equipment like" format
    * Secondary STR produces Secondary ENC Table
    * If you have an image file the file size will be bloated if you just preview the character. Use Export to File to ensure the smallest file size possible.
    * Image should fit under background and must be a JPEG

Please feel free to send me comments or corrections.
