Hello all. I'm trying to write up Damien from the Omen movies. I'm currently working on the version for the first film. Essentially a normal child, but with immunity to disease(mentioned explicitly in the first film). I'm thinking a better than normal EGO and PRE as well. For the "mysterious accidents" that befall anyone who learns his secret...not sure...thinking massive amounts of Luck(what's lucky for him is not so lucky for others concept) maybe, but open to better suggestions. As for the devil dogs and the psycho nanny from hell, I may write them up as followers....or just leave them as plot devices. Any ideas for this Damien...or any of the other two "versions"?(I i…

Viper Agents

Okay when building Viper agents, as I understand it, you start with the basic agent template, add LV 1, abilities, then maybe level 2 abilities, and then Lv 3 abilities. For instance one might be a: Basic Combat Specialist--->Superhuman Combat Specialist --->Scarlet Serpent. Is this right?

A very very easy question, but I'm slightly confused on part of Gravitar's build in CKC. I get her base 60 STR 0 END Telekinesis, but I don't get +40 STR TK in her multipower. Do I just add that amount to her other TK, but it now costs 6 END to use her full TK? I probably missed something in the rules on this, but I didn't find anything with a quick glance.

Teleport Double Check

I'm thinking of an earth elemental type super to put in a villain team. The elemental provides one method for a speedy escape. The idea is teleport all of the team, weather they be conscious or not, but they are willing, some location kilometers away by phasing through the earth. With TP you can use increased mass to TP more objects and willing traveler's, even if unconscious right? And if you tack on ranged you can teleport them without needing to touch them? So here’s the power idea: Walk the Halls of Earth: Teleportation 5", x8 Increased Mass, Safe Blind Teleport (+1/4), Megascale (1" = 1 km; +1/4), Ranged (+1/2) (50 Active Points); Only through …

Solo game needs ideas
by Guest Celebrin- 9 replies

Hey there, folks. As my wife is interested in trying out gaming in an attempt to see if she will enjoy something that I do, I am considering starting out with a solo game for her using Champions. I'm going to be using my Sentra City setting, so that much I have in mind. My rogues gallery is somewhat designed for a group, though, so I know that will need a little bit of adding to (which I'm looking forward to, but I'm trying to decide what kind of super-powers, etc to give her character that will make it reasonably well-balanced for someone who will be adventuring on their own. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Darren

So it's come down to finally posting the ultimate system newbie question. What should I pick-up next? Physical books or electronic recommendations are welcome. Just to be clear, I'm looking to start running a game some time after the first of the year. What I currently have: 1. FREd 2. Champions 3. Champions Universe 4. Conquerors, Killers, and Crooks 5. Millenium City 6. UNTIL Superpowers DB (my most recent acquisition ) On my RADAR: 1. The Ultimate Martial Artist 2. Champions Battlegrounds 3. HERO System Resource Kit 4. Hero Designer (though I'll probably wait until 2.0 is released)

I need some idea on what would go into an FBI Agent package. I know that there is a division between forensic pathologists and agents with Law degrees and those two skill area are easy enough to figure out as is Weapons fam: Small arms and Fed. Police powers. It's in the other areas I'm gray about. Any help and or useful links would be appreciated. Secondly, amyone out there use the FBI in their Champs campaigns? Any advice on the way to present and play, use in the campaign and or annecdotes are welcome.

Okay, here's the setup. I need to be pointed towards some useful villain stats quick. I am not good at designing badguys to bust up my PCs. They have entangles. They have teleportation, and one has invisibility. Yes, I have CKC, and nothing trips my fancy. HERE is what I'm looking for: Altered heros. YES, you heard it. The setup: Foxbat has come into possession of the Genre Gun. He shoots someone with it, and BAM, 3-4 duplicates of that person hit appears. The catch? Those duplicates are from alternate dimensions. So this could be the 'Bizarro hero'. My PCs are going to put on an investigation for the Champs to find out who is impersonating this superhero…

This is a 3 part What If. What would you do if you and your arch nemesis were transported to the dinosaur era. There are trees, big dinosaurs, little dinosaurs, mammals, fish, fresh water, volcanoes, a nice climate, everything you need to survive... What does your arch enemy do? You might have been in combat, maybe you were just walking down the street in civilian clothes. Then later on you (or your arch enemy) find that there is a race of people here living in caves eeking out an existence and occasionally getting eaten. A small tribe ready for the conquering or enslaving. (Yes I know neanderthals and T Rex did not co-exist, maybe they were transported h…

One evening a giant spacegoing battleship studded with weaponry, capable of holding thousands of troops, appears around our moon broadcasting messages in all known languages demanding a Champion of Earth from each gender to meet their Champion in 1 day's time or else. The Terran Champions are to stand alone on top of the tallest pyramid in Giza for pickup, the transmission ends. No communications sent are responded to. No video was included to give you an idea of their Champion. Those with KS: intergalactic races may recognize the ship as from a race similar to the Minoans, who took teens as tribute to be trained in bull dancing (gymnastics using live bulls) and be…

I need some help with a psuedo-NPC. My sister is making up a character for my campaign as a sort of 'guest star' / recuuring role character. We're getting down to the nutznboltz here very soon, as the next game is in a couple of days. Before we sit down to get the rough draft underway, I was hoping to get some input and suggestions for what you think should go into this character t help polish it off. Here's the concept; The character is basically a cross between Gambit (of X-Men fame) and Artemis Entreri (Forgotten Realms). I only have two main stumbling blocks. First, we don't often get a chance to sit down and hash out a PC because of our schedules. And…

On page 69 of the VIPER Sourcebook, there is a wonderful pic of VIPER Divisional Insignia (I believe by Keith "A Damn Fine Artist" Curtis). I have been through the entire book, I cannot find any reference to the Clutch Division. I know I'm missing something, can anyone help me out with a page number?

I'm re-building an old character and need some help . Originally based on Winter(no flight) from Wildstorm , Backlash from Marvels New Universe , and Bishop from Marvels X-Men . Power: Missle Deflection & Refletion vs all ranged attacks , +5 OCV , Delayed Effect(1/4) , Only vs Energy Attacks(-1) . The idea is to absorb a enemies attack and release it when desired thus the DELAYED EFFECT , but it just doesn't read right to me . Suggestions Please . PS : Also had some Energy Adjustment Powers .

You're out on patrol at night, watching the streets through binoculars (or your own supersenses if you have them) from a roof top, when you see a mugger in an alley pull out a gun and acost a passerby. Just as you're about to go down and intervene, the would be victim surprises the mugger and knocks him cold with a mean right hook to the jaw. As the mugger is sprawled on the ground unconscious, the guy picks up the gun, slips it into his coat, says something along the lines of "Thanks for the gun, pinhead", and then walks away, surprisingly nonchalant about the whole thing. How would you (or your character) react to seeing this play out?

Labs!

One thing our group (previous group?) discovered was that all Labs are just skills that assist when someone is using that skill. You can wander through the skill list and make up a lab for any skill at all. Well, science labs are pretty obvious. Everyone has some idea what chemistry lab or physics lab look like, but what about a Streetwise lab? Here's some amusing "labs" to have in your base: Streetwise lab: a room full of filing cabinenets, all jammed full of contact information, blackmail info and background files on a very wide variety of folks around the campaign city. Some are probably extensive photo-copies of the police files on the same subject. If they'…

Hey Guys, I am currently running a super hero game set in my own world. The characters are part of a United Nations super team. I am using bits and pieces from the Champions Universe. I liked the idea of UNTIL and formed a super team called Storm Watch (U.N. Force was the orignial name but it sounded lame). I have a version of Dr. Destroyer named Apocalypse (but not as campy). He destroyed San Diego, CA while trying to conquer California. He captured the military base on Coronado Island and was stopped by a collection of heroes. After that they US signed the Tribunal Treaty and Storm Watch operates in the U.S. The big problem I am running is the standard advent…

Hi all, In the Champions Universe, Dr. Destroyer destroyed Detroit. What if his base was under Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, by the southern end of the West End Bridge and he fired his orbital bombardment cannon from there, and, by the time the heroes stopped it, most, if not all, of Alleghny County was destroyed? Would it be rebuilt? If so, would the layout look much like it once was? Would the city's name be changed? Where would The Champions, the hero team that formed after the city's rebirth, be based? Assuming PRIMUS would put a base here, where would it go? For my fellow Pittsburghers, I add this question: What is lower, the subway tracks under down…

Anybody notice that the Viper Gecko vehicle (p 121) with the Aqua-Gecko option... does NOT have Life Support? So, the fleeing Cobra division agents who drive their small submersible car into the lake, hoping to escape pursuing superheroes... will need to be hauled out of their flooded and waterlogged car. Unless they thought to bring along SCUBA gear. I suspect this is what passes for an Adder division "joke"...

Whenever possible, I try and run my game within the current timeframe. Having said that, a Presidential election is coming up, and I need some candidates. Currently, the office is filled by one Enrique Espinosa. Placed on the VP ballot back in 1996 to appeal to Hispanic voters, he is the son of Brazilian immigrants who ran an electronics company in Seattle. Secretly, he is a retired superhero, his leg irreparably damaged in battle. He got the job back in 1999, when alien invaders captured the White House and demanded the serving President fire nuclear missiles at targets they designated around the world. Fearing for his life, the President was about to com…

Wpuld like some advice here on a character I'm working on. He's got the power to affect other people's bodies on a chemical level (i.e., he can make them hallucinate by creating a microdose of LSD in their brains, can do an END Drain by filling them with fatigue poisons, etc.). I have just two questions: First, what sort of powers do you think would be best for this character? His 'Biochemical Control' is done up as a Multipower, and his biggest limitation is he can't affect people with body-affecting powers (i.e., they can change their metabolism so quickly he can't 'latch on') and his powers are thus far limited to human metabolisms/bodies. He's got the two mention…
