I am not, necessarily, looking for help from any specific person but more like an, in general, request for assistance with Export Formats. There are a couple of things I would LIKE to do with EFs. All of these issues I can edit the RTF after exporting and tweak what I need, but then I end up with a checklist of changes and stuff gets forgotten and missed. I am hoping to make this an Export and Run affair. I've been playing with them for the past six weeks or so and I have gotten them really close to what I want (even if I don't necessarily understand how everything specifically works. When printing a Character Sheet the Combat Maneuvers section is over printing into the Powers sections. The Basic combat maneuvers in addition to the Martial Arts Attacks purchased for the character section is extending into the power section when printing and making page unreadable. it is possible to turn off or eliminate the printing of the basic combat maneuvers (ie Block, brace, disarm, dodge, grab, etc., etc..? This would leave just the Martial Arts I purchased to show.... Please advise..

I am trying to give my Character Experience point. So I enter the points in the experience points earned field; Then I go buy the Power/Characteristics I want, and the experience point spent field doesn't update. I tried to save Character to see if it updates after saving and there is no Change.... How do I get the XP Spent Field to Update ?

I am attempting to convert a 4th Ed Character to 5th Edition using the Heroes Designer. However, neither the Elemental Control, Multipower, or Unified Power are showing on my screen. Did they remove Elemental Controls under 5th Edition as well as Multi-powers?? Please help, Any assistance is greatly appreciated!! Thanks

I am attempting to create a 4D6 Spherical Entangle with and AOE of 4" Radius; But the HD5 only allows me to create a 3" Radius per 1D6, or a 12"Radius for a 4D6; I want a 4" Radius (8 Dia. Total - Spherical) 4D6 Entangle ... How do I build it??

I try not to post a question here because the problem is between the keyboard and the chair. Never the less, I have been building a Shrinking character. On different occasions 3 levels of shrinking will display a different result. It's a radically different result like .2m (which is 4 levels of shrinking. Another character with 3 levels of shrinking has .0095m. I think that's like 7 levels. Some of these are inside of an EC and some are not and I don't know what is going on. I start a new character and just build it and just notice that the levels are off. Right now it really doesn't matter and I am just using the program as a guide as the numbers don't matter (sor…

I just downloaded an attempted to create a new character. The Heroes Designer software is NOT Adjusting or providing the Correct OCV/DCV Calculations based upon the characters dexterity. My Characters Dex is 30 so his OCV/DCV should be 8; But the software keeps saying it is 3; What is going wrong? any help would be appreciated!!

I know HD only works on full operating systems. But I was not sure if Surface Go counts as a full system or not. We were looking at them and it seems they are not actually using Windows 11. Has anyone tried it and know if Java runs on one? I would hate to buy it and find out it is useless.

The system has Nerve Strike, but it's the only one. It doesn't look like I can properly build anything else, because there's no way to incorporate the "don't add STR" which is inherent in doing NND damage (per HSMA). Is there some coding in the Effect field I'm missing?

So when I'm using the hero designer and making new powers the menu pops up like it normally should. I'm able to add custom adders but I can't add modifiers. It freezes out my pc and I have to restart it anytime does anyone have a solution to this problem.

So I selected a new export format for my HD based off of the Superman export that uses html and css. But now I lost where the default Hero system one was that looked like the PDF character sheet from the book. Anyone here know what the name of that export was? That way I can go find it in my computer or redownload it if I wrote over it.

I'm working on my Export Template for GenCon and I am ALMOST done. I am using an RTF export because I am creating PC Profile Packets (tm). Being a Con, I am trying to make the sheets as simple as possible. I have taken out all the costs, etc. I have a couple of characters Flash Defence, but the export templates I have been browsing through to steal from don't explicitly export FD. My idea is to export "Flash Defence (Sight)" and "Flash Defence (Hearing)" on the sheet, but I cannot seem to find/figure/determine/Ouija the tags for Flash Defence. In the past I was able to buy a bunch of Hero Designer prefabricated stuff. I went online to see if I could find the Champions pre-fabs. (The book called Champions, not Champions Complete). But I could not find anything except the basic hero designer software in the store. Are prefabs sold through somewhere else then?

The Updates are located on the same page you probably downloaded your initial version of Hero Designer. You may want to check once in awhile to see if a new version has been uploaded. The most current version is December 16, 2022. From the upper main menu go to Store and Manage Purchases. From there scroll down until you see Hero Designer as a purchase (or even Hero Designer Source). You will find a .zip file at the bottom. The date will be attached so you may see what the last update was. From there you should just have to unzip the files into whatever Directory you currently have Hero Designer. If you are i…

I have HD3 from when I was active in Hero System when all the store and purchases where still online. I noticed there is no version number on the current HD for sale in the store. Is there a summary of the differences between the two somewhere? I was not sure if it was worth paying for the new program, or is it basically the same?

When playing around as part of another thread, I never noticed before (probably because I don't mess with VPPs often. The Real Cost for the power is at 0 in the Power pane. While I know it should be 0 in the VPP List, there is no indication of what's actually being spent and if it goes over, only when you exit and it gives the error of 'Real Cost for XXXX exceeds....Item will be placed outside of Pool's Sample Power list." Can that be changed to show the Real Cost inside the Power write-up?

Just a quick play around with something for Easter. Going back and going down the list on some of the tags and double checking that I know what I think I know Not perfect, not great and other ways to do it. Was just playing with different things and seeing how they exported. With things like Hero Designer, I honestly believe you should play with all the tags, rather you use them or not to make sure you're getting what you think you are. You may expect X and you end up with XY. Happy Easter all.

I don't know if this is HD or Java, but here's the situation on Windows 10: 1) no issues with HD version 20210804 (immediately prior version) 2) I've used HD version 20220312 the past couple of months without issue, but loaded it today (Saturday) for the first time in a few weeks, and I think maybe Java updated once during that time. 3) Issue - I load any hero, go to Skills tab, click on a skill, and then either click edit button at bottom, or right-click on the skill and select edit - then HD main window loses focus (as it should), but no edit window shows up anywhere. 6E2 183 says computers don't come with standard senses for free, "they have to be hooked into sensory systems (like the security cameras at a base, or the sensors on a starship) to give them the ability to perceive, or the builder has to buy the Computer specific Senses (see 6E1 209 for costs)." I cannot find "standard senses" in the enhanced senses powers directory in Hero Designer. Are we forced to use customer powers for this, or is there a way to add/remove standard senses that I'm not finding? Thanks!
