Folks (And I do mean more than one, not trying to single ANYONE person out, but this seems a good thread to bring it up...again) Only in referring to cancer (the medical condition, not the poster) And COVID (In the Coronavirus thread) are we supposed to use a certain F word on these boards. The Admins have in the past reminded folks that while we tend towards older demographics we want this to be a family friendly board over all. SO... I mention this now and then, and yet still if I do a search, folks ignore it..a lot. So far my options appear to be... Start issuing warnings and infractions Clear them up only to have them happen again …

I have been reading the other wrestling thread on this site but I am constantly irritated by the snarky comments by the people claiming to be wrestling fans there. I get so tired of it that I decided to start a new thread where real wrestling fans can come to talk about their love of wrestling without those people who continually want to put it down because it "sucks" or that Miz or Orton or Cena or whatever sucks. I am not asking for people to like everything about the WWE (or TNA). I don't like everything. But I would ask that those Internet "smarts" who have nothing but negative things to say to stay away. Of course, with the IWC being a gripe-filled group…

OK...it's unlikely that we'll be able to get away without any political discussion taking place in the forums (despite the fact that the forums are for an RPG and there are plenty of other arenas for political discourse) -- so we're going to make a dedicated spot for them to take place. With rules that will be followed. Before I get into the rules, a little bit about self-policing. You guys are a good group. I'm assuming that, political differences aside, you'd like to keep each other around. So you're going to be the first level of checks that will take place. This is the ONLY US political discussion thread that is going to be around. If you see someone start a…

I brought my headphones to work tonight so during the slow parts (almost the entire night) I have been able to watch some videos on Google Video. I figured I'd start a thread for people to share random videos. An amusing Final Fantasy Sequence: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=4511700021036249808 A guy lights his fart on fire: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6304447980554417691 A funny counterstrike video with someone whining because he can't get into the vents (NSFW): http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=7118750192530790377

In memory of Tom Tyler, aka Vincent Markowski, of Hamtramck, Michigan, whose birthday was today, 1903. His family was Lithuanian. One of his film roles was the World's Mightiest Mortal, Captain Marvel, widely regarded as one of the finest serials ever produced. He also starred as The Phantom, and appeared in more than 150 movies. A champion weightlifter, he qualified for the 1928 Olympics, the same year that he won the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) heavyweight weightlifting championship, lifting 760 pounds (340 kg)—a record that stood for fourteen years. Tom developed a rare disease, scleroderma, costing him his looks, his marriage, his livelihood and his life.

Well, it's a tad early, as training camps don't open for a while but... In what some are calling explosive but I'd call predictable... James Harden *blasts* Sixers GM Daryl Morey and vows never to play for an organization of which he's a part. Even doubled down on it, in case people didn't get the message. ESPN story says he's upset about not getting a long term max deal...poor baby. Only signed a $35M extension...in order to facilitate a trade, but he turns 34 this month. Consistent comments from analysts during the playoffs were, he's lost a step. He was completely MIA in all 4 losses to Boston...12 for 55 from the field, 3 for 24…

I know almost everyone has Winamp (or the equivalent) cranked up most of the time when they're online. So, what are you listening to? Right now, I'm listening to: "A Boy Named Sue" by Johnny Cash. "My name is Sue! How DO you DO? Now you're gonna die!"

Well...apparently the rookies are starting to report today; training camps start opening early next week. So, it's time for a thread for the new season. And ugh...this isn't exactly the best way to start things out, but ESPN's Outside the Lines team is showing a story regarding who leaked the emails that led to Jon Gruden's firing. The story is massively ugly. We start with Dan Snyder, but that's no surprise now. They don't accuse individuals per se, but make cases for...Goodell, DeMaurice Smith (head of the PA), and general league officials and even owners, who were MORE than happy, apparently, to force Gruden out. They also suggest Snyder ha…

I just finished viewing Dog Soldiers, a soldiers versus werewolves movie. I found it liked it at lot, parts made me laugh, parts made me shudder, and parts made me say "that's not right...." I highly recommend it. I also watched The Wizard of Oz over the weekend, for the first time. Rather fun, with some highly enjoyable sequences -- the flying monkeys were great! -- and the musical numbers are catchy. I also found it amusing to sort of "count" all the lines that have remained in popular use. What have you seen recently?

This idea, while not my original creation, is one I have seen used in other places, which I thought would be fun. Rather than asking a question and having others post the answer, then another question - you post an answer, somebody provided the question, then gives another question. Kinda like Jeapordy. One other thing, the answers & questions are not meant to be taken to seriously - let your imagination soar. Let me give a few past examples to get things started. Answer: 97.5 Question: What is the aprroximate size, in astronomical units, of Bill Clinton's libido? Answer: Prof. Plum, in the study, with the rope. Question: What is only slightly less…

Last night I dreamt that I was walking along a stream, I heard voices coming from underneath a bridge. I looked under the bridge and saw a bunch of anthropomorphic mice*. they had gathered under the bridge because there was "good" air beneath the bridge and "bad" air everywhere else (a subconscious connection to the many fires and "smokevercast" we've had locally for several days now) they were talking about their friend who had fallen into the water and was drowning. I reached in the water and rescued their soggy friend before continuing on my way. *See: American Tail, Chip 'n' Dale's Rescue Rangers, or Flushed Away for examples.

We have threads for Major League Baseball, the NBA, the NFL, college football, etc. But there are other sports that, let's face it, not enough people follow for a thread of their own. Cycling, tennis, ice hockey, football/soccer, curling, that sort of thing. And we have the Olympic Games coming up soon. So here's a thread where we can talk about some of those lesser-known / lesser appreciated sports. Go nuts.

I feel the need to spew random thoughts onto a public board from time to time so I thought I'd start up a thread to do it. Of course everyone else is welcome to spew here also--the only rule is that you cannot reply to someone else's post. Each post should have as little to do with the others as possible.
