Not sure where this question goes, but I will try here. I finally got around to watching Sin City this weekend (one of the better movies I have seen in a while, by the way). After watching I am still a little confused about the tie in of the very first part before the opening credits. Who were the 2 characters supposed to be. The one played by Josh Hartnett (?) and the woman he killed. I dont have much previous knowledge of Sin City before watching the movie. And it is perplexing me. So I was wondering if any of the more knowlegeable Sin City fandom could help out.

As in all things, I suppose this is a matter of personal preference, but would you use hit locations in DC:TAS? Dark Champions almost requires them, but DC:TAS is the "bridge" between Dark Champions & Champions. Has anyone played in a DC:TAS game? What were the results? Did it affect the flair? Sorry for all the questions, I haven't gotten to play in a long time. :-)

Does anyone know what pre-FREd books had the soldier and government agent packages? I know there were soldier, ranger, special forces, SEALs, etc for soldiers, as well as FBI, Secret Service, etc. for the government but I can't find them in my older Dark Champions books. Were they printed in the books, or just in the old Heromakr software? Page numbers would be extra-helpful, but I'll settle for the books.

What would be the best way to build Jane Doe, a serial killer and Batman foe who studies her victims, kills them, and then becomes them, assuming their lives so completely and flawlessly that most of the victim's friends, co-workers, et. al. don't catch on without something going majorly wrong for the imposter. What sort of skills and abilities (beyond Acting and Disguise... or perhaps Shapeshifting would be more appropriate) would such a character need to be effective?

I've recently seen a few episodes of the CBS drana Numbers and have been wondering what kind of use the series' concepts could be in a police-based Dark Champions campaign. The series involved an FBI agent who is frequently put on high-profile and rather puzzling cases, ranging from celebrity stalkings to brazen robberies linked to kidnappings. And the agent, although he isn't stupid, is frequently in over his head when it comes to the cleverness of the felons he is trying to track down. Luckily he can get the help of his brother -- a math professor at a local univeristy (I'm thinking UCLA, since the show seems to be set in los Angeles) who has already been doing con…

Are local and federal government liaison officers reasonable in a Dark Champions: The Animated Series campaign? If so, what would be a reasonable background for each?

Wanted Dead or Alive You are a mutant. You weren’t born this way; you are a victim of a government manufactured virus that attacked your DNA. The CDC reported that over 250,000 people died from this virus, you were one of the “lucky†ones. Unfortunately the population at large fears you. The church, under the direction of Cardinal Sin, has declared you an abomination and that you must be destroyed and they will use any holy relic in their possession to complete this task. The Governments of the world want you in their arsenal at any cost, if they cant have you alive, they will gladly take you dead so the can dissect you and find out what makes you tick…

I just wanted to say that this looks like an excellent little adventure. I will definately be using it in my Dark Champions campaign. It has just enough detail in it to make it easy on the GM and still fit into about any existing campaign. I really hope that there will be some more DC adventures of this type made available.

The Network 12 weeks ago, a total of six thousand pods were shot from an alien craft orbiting modern day Earth. The trigectory of these pods specifically targeted major military institutions in all corners of the globe. The craters from the impact themselves were enough to completely disrupt modern military capabilities. But the pods which all survived impact opened and hostile aliens began attacking and destroying the military forces at these bases. Most island countries are left untouched. Japan and England have but a single pod each to contend with. Shortly after the invasion begins, all satellites are destroyed. 11 weeks ago, most military heavy countries…

Can anyone point to some good information resources on leading edge Modern High-Tech Bows and Crossbows, one that compares them to traditional ones and hopefully even modern firearms? Hero System stats would be a nice bonus but real world articles would be great too. Thanks!

I am preparing to start a Dark Champions game and want to use sectional body armor. The Dark Champions book references the Activation roll, but does not reference the specific locations covered. The main rulebook references specific locations covered associated with certain Activation rolls. 11- equates to a helmet without a face plate and a vest that does not cover the shoulders. 14- equates to a helmet with a face plate, jacket with sleeves (but no gloves), pants and armored boots (that somehow leave part of the leg exposed). Am I reading this right? Does anyone have a listing of sectional Dark Champions body armor by pieces with the locations covered…

In honor of the show's season premiere tonight (and in light of the fact that I haven't done any character conversions recently), I decided to bring to you my adaptation of of Law and Order: Special Victims Unit heroine (and uber-hottie) Olivia Benson. Benson has a dark past: her father was a serial rapist who attacked both her and her mother. It was these acts that prompted her to join the volunteer Special Victims Unit of the NYPD, where she was partnered with ex-U.S. Marine Elliot Stabler (whom I'll do a write-up for later). She is known to sympathize with the victims she meets, even to the point of actively involving herself in their lives. She has even offered hersel…

Anyways, anybody gave it any though about how and who Card Shark would add to his group? I have. And hear is my list. I also want to see your list (or, baring that, your reaction to my list). The Pocket Suit: A group of 13 people, all cops, judges, and such who are bought and paid for by Card Shark himself. All of them have a card rank, and can be contacted by mailing them a card (which is blank except for there number/letter, and placed inside an extra envelope, a "pocket" as it was). Basicly, this repersents cheating, "having a card in your pocket". Muligan: When someone within the Card Shark orginzation needs to be killed (because in order to save his own hid…

Does anyone have either of these books? And just how good are they? I'm looking more at Hudson City right now (I *usually* do Champions, but I'm wondering if a 'normals in the superhumans universe' story/adventure might not make for a welcome change of pace), and the big HC _is_ a part of the 'official' universe as I recall. And what about Predators? Just what sort of crooks does it concentrate on -- realistic gangsters and killers, Batman style wackos, or Sin City/noir style somewhat weirded out sorts?

While the network was a great idea, I've decided that it isn't broad enough of a topic to garner the attention necessary to put it on Aldaric Gaming (for now). Because I needed something to put up there and I wanted a Dark Champions game, I have decided to create an Illuminati campaign setting. The campaign setting puts players in a world where not one but three illumanti groups exist, struggling to expand their power base to cover the entire world. Group 1 has existed for thousands of years. The group is countrolled by a certain number of wealth, powerful councilmen. When they die, their heir becomes their successor. Group 2 was created in the late 1940…

Hi, I am searching for immediate 'ready to use' adventures / campaigns for Dark Champions (I own Dark Champions, Hudson City and Predators). Preferable with enough detail (including maps) to avoid a lenghty preparation phase. I am willing to convert from other systems to the Hero System. It is the detailed plotline / content which is important.

Not that the attached is remarkable in any way for its complexity, but a good gritty street type adventure will sometimes require folks getting into, out of, on top of and through subway cars. To wit:

I'm curious what comic/graphic novels people feel capture some of the Hudson City "flavor". I've never been into reading comics having only read DC Comic's "The Watchmen". I'm looking for some suggestions on titles that might serve to get a GM in the Dark Champions/Hudson City mood. I assume Gotham would serve as a good source of inspiration but I have a tough time deciding which comic/graphic novel set in Gotham would cover the less "superhero" aspects of the city just from the listings on DC Comics website. Any suggestions?

The World: Much like our world, December 28th 2004. The streets of New York City, arguably the greatest city on the face of the Earth, possibly the most dangerous as well. Corruption, drugs, crime and vice rule the streets. Violence is the law of the land and the ruthless hold sway, but no more. You will make a difference. You have the power. Either threw dedication, training and an unknown “Gift†you have been handed the power to take back the streets, to protect (or avenge) the innocent and punish the guilty. The authorities might call you Vigilante, perhaps even serial killer, but you know what you are. You are the savior of a new century, a light in the darkness. T…

Hudson City Knights Hudson City, the pearl city, the big sleazy, sin by the sea. Never the nicest place to live it was cosmopolitan in a way like nowhere else. Truly if you could make it there you could make it anywhere. But as of late the Pearl City has become still more tarnished this time by forces far odder than organized crime or street gangs that plague its streets. A new breed of criminal has emerged. Cunning, ruthless and extreme, these criminals are obsessed with a certain variety of crime or a theme. They wear costumes, employ gimmicks and henchmen and can be singularly ruthless in pursuing their insane agendas. A wave of costumed madmen now plague the city…
