Reading the PSLs description in 6E1, 87, it doesn't appear that we can use PSLs to 'reduce the 1/2 DCV penalty' induced on things like using Multi-Attack or to offset a particular Combat Maneuver. Is this correct? i'm having a discussion at our table and half say it is, while others like me believe it is not possible. thoughts?

Hello, and thank you again to all the people who helped me with holsters and shooting stances. This time the subject is grenade belts. How are they worn? Google has given me several pictures of belts for carrying grenades, but in 10 pages of images I haven't found many pictures of people *wearing* them. And most of those were Vietnam War-era or older, and not very clear. Some were worn in the "Badass Bandolier" style, but I'm looking for plain, ordinary, around-the-waist style. I found one picture of a Marine lying on the ground with the grenades in front. Those might have been grenade launcher rounds; I couldn't tell. Front seems most sensible, but one picture is…

Kneecapping

How would you define "kneecapping" an enemy in Hero terms? Is it accomplished just by damage targeted at a leg location or would it require a drain on running of some kind? If this is referenced somewhere in the books, a page reference would be greatly appreciated.

Just looking for some ideas on this topic. I'm planning on running small scenarios with miniatures not unlike the gunfights in the movie itself. I haven't yet gotten my FRED book (pretty rare) but I have Dark Champions and I have read about the mechanics of the game elsewhere so I have a pretty good idea how things work. I need a little project to keep me occupied. PS. Limitations. Dependence: Cigarettes (5 points), Dependence: Alcohol (10 points). Psychological Limitation: Code of Honor (25 points)

Because I'm both a huge fan of the game, and I want to know if it's possible to make such a behavior-focused game in 6e. For those of you who don't know, Unknown Armies is an Urban Fantasy/Horror RPG with the fundamental premise that humanity actually is the center of the universe; it's human will that ultimately will decide what the form the next iteration of the universe will take, when the Invisible Clergy (the post-human embodiments of universal archetypes-the Warrior, the Hunter, the True King, the MVP, etc.) reaches 333 members (well, 332-the last seat is reserved for the embodiment of the concept of humanity as a species). Upon that day, the divine realm of the…

I want to run a (heroic) DC game where the characters are monster hunters. They can be normals (100 CP + 50 in Comps) or have a couple of powers. Question 1: What limit should I put on the Active Points of powers? I don't want 12d6 energy blasts, for example. Question 2: Would this work better at 150 CP + 50 in Comps?

Hello, all! I want to draw a couple characters who with U.S. military backgrounds, and I'd like to keep a few details plausible. I know nothing about this, so I hope the Forum includes people who do. I don't consider movies and TV shows adequate "research." (Well, they are actually Champions characters, but I still want to avoid having them look ridiculously wrong to anyone who knows about such things.) One character is Army, the other Air Force, if it matters. Both characters carry handguns. Modern soldiers do still carry pistols as backup weapons, yes? It's part of the training? (This shows the depths of my ignorance.) Is there any preferred form of hols…

Spies, conmen, and other duplicitious types tend to have one thing in common. A backup plan when things go wrong. Part of that plan is a go bag if they need to blow town. But whats in the ideal go bag. Mine would have 50k cash change of clothes and disguse gun and 4 clips clean burner phone fake passport What would your ideal go bag look like?

Hudson City came out on 2004, 12 years (or so) ago. When do you run your game? 2004 or more modern times? While locked up we had one guy who ran DC (HI Dave!) who ran it in 2004. I personally ran mine in 2013. With the internet you can run a game in almost any year with all the information at your finger-tips Recenetly I printed out about 30 pages for Dave. Listings of movies, books, and events for last 2003- to mid 2006. Enough material for him to run a 2004 game for awhile.

I have been submitting a bunch of Superheroic Heromachine Drawings over on the Champions board and have a ton of images I created for my Hudson City Chaos Campaign for Dark Champions. I thought I would post them here if ya'll don't mind. As with the previous thread if I post an homage that steps on the toes of anyone's intellectual property just let me know and I will immediately remove it. First, some of the PCs from my face to face game that started over a decade ago. Vengeance Purgatory, Stone, Edge, Barracuda, Badger and Codex The game lasted for nearly eight years and eventually Barracuda died in the game and was replaced by Badger. Later we a…

What's your favorite street vigilante that you have encountered in a Dark Champions campaign?

Howdy all, I saw a post in the Champions forum about favorite superhero team names, and it got me thinking what's your favorite street vigilante from a Dark Champions campaign, either that you have played or that you have ran as a GM. What's their name and their origin story? Why are they so memorable? My favorite street vigilante from Dark Champions is Kiss of Death. Dayanara Sloane is a wealthy socialite by day and a crime-fighter at night. She is the daughter of a mob lawyer, who was accidentally killed by another vigilante Nocturnal (who happens to appear as an NPC in another Champions campaign) in a battle with the mob. He warned Dayanara not to follow in…

Exactly what the title asks- is this a case of Dark Champions where each of the main characters (anti-heroes and villains alike) have a sort of signature "special skill" or is it more of a Pulp campaign that just happens to take place in a neo-modern setting?

The Story By Donald Westlake Something for DC characters who go up against supernatural horror, While I'm aware of Krampus, he really doesn't do that much for me--maybe because his name sounds so much like muscle or stomach discomfort. But Nackles seems much more nasty, perhaps because of the sheer level of malice (in-story) put into his creation. Anyway, there it is for your inspiration. Enjoy the Christmas season--and in the words of the story--"You'd better watch out."

I have been considering running cold war, contemporary state on state, and war on terrorism espionage one shot adventures or campaigns. 1) Although Dark Champions was highly praised in internet reviews, it was published in 2004. I am concerned this may be too old for adventuring in contemporary settings. Does Hero Games have any plans to publish another edition of Dark Champions? Would Hero Games allow fans to cooperate to produce an updated edition? What kind of work would be involved in researching and adapting material for one's personal campaign set after 2004? 2) What supplements, settings, and adventures are available for Dark Champions? What generic or othe…

In 6th ed., for Heroic, Standard, char total of 175 pts, under Character Ability Guideline Vol1, 35 pg. CV limit is listed at 3 - 7 for heroic Standard. My question PSLs should they count toward total CV? Ranged levels cannot be applied to DCV, so less utility than HTH Lvls. EDIT: On the same page CV is defined as the characters base CV My revised question: What is a good Campaign limit on CV inflation?
