http://www.glasnost.de/hist/usa/1935invasion.html some background: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Color-coded_War_Plans It occurs to me that if one is planning an alternate history pulp or supers game, the above link is a gold mine. The US military drew up contingency plans for war with just about everybody. My personal favorite is War Plan Red-Orange, a contingency for fighting a two-ocean war with the UK and Japan simultaneously(the two countries were allied until 1924).

Saw this and had some flashbacks to a Justice Inc campaign I ran many moons ago....except that that dealt with ancient Japanese artifacts found in Columbia but......anyway, I think that this has some gaming potential: http://news.yahoo.com/roman-jewellery-found-ancient-japan-tomb-163550978.html -Carl-

I just watched the first episodes of the new Avatar series, and it is certainly filled with a Pulp/Fantasy feeling, set in that world's version of the 1920s. Has anyone else seen it?

Even though it might be a little late for the "pure" Pulp Era, I still think that this story belongs here.....Some of the images have some really awesome plot hook possibilities, IMNSVHO. http://games.yahoo.com/blogs/unplugged/superman-spider-man-friends-photobomb-history-005141667.html -Carl-

Start here: http://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?38174-Giant-Footprint-shown-by-Michael-Tellinger-in-South-Africa/page3 In 1912 a giant foot print was found as an impression in granite. It is 4' long indicating a 26' (7.5 meter) tall humanoid. It is considered a sacred place. It is estimated to be 200 million years old. Nearby were found crystal skulls, weird carvings and giant bones. That's what they say. Read all of the comments to get the full length story from the local tribesman who had been visiting the site since 1937! Cthulhu? Bible Giants? Very large ancient astronauts? YOU DECIDE!

I'm interested in Pulp Hero, and had read somewhere there was going to be a possible 6th edition release sometime this year. However, given everything that's been going on, is this remotely possible? If not, I saw a used copy for 5th edition I could purchase and convert if necessary. If I go with the latter option, how hard would it be to use the material? Thanks.

I've been watching a lot of Film Noir in anticipation of my upcoming Pulp Hero/GAC campaign. So, I'll be posting some characters here as I build them. They will be based on characters from film.

Found this while randomly scanning some YouTube vids.....I see definite gaming potential here!! And, given it's retro-futuristic diesel punk flavor, I'm posting it to this forum......Enjoy! Oh....Note the name of the young hero's school near the end......It made me grin! -Carl-

have to say, I wasn't to thrilled at first with a lot of the initial casting. Not sure why, I suppose I was just visualizing things a touch differently, and it seemed they were trying to toss in to much Xena into my REH..... However, with the recent passing of Frazetta, and going over a lot of the great Art the man produced, I couldn't help but notice when the pics of Jason Momoa started to come out as Conan, (And I defended his casting as Conan to more then a few people telling them to wait and see...)... I have to say....Dude looks like he stepped off a Frazetta Painting.....which works for me. So far really the best thing the nit pickers can Pick …

So I'm thinking about downsizing my RPG collection a bit, and I have a copy of Pulp Hero in the limited hardcover print run they did. I'm thinking about selling it, but I'm not sure what to ask for it. Normally, I'd find other sales of the same item, and see how much they went for. But I can't find any other instance of one of these being sold. Any suggestions?
