Someone suggested this on Twitter/YouTube. It's a site where you can look up Tanks/Aircraft/Naval Ships/Weapons etc by Era as well as by weapon I believe. Probably usable for Western and Pulp Hero along with Deark Champions. It boasts 5,500 entries. https://www.militaryfactory.com/

Standard times: Draw weapon - 1/2 Phase Cock a single action revolver - 1/2 Phase Fire - 1/2 Phase So, as most revolvers are single action, a character without Fast Draw skill cannot fire the same Phase as they draw and cock. That gives anyone with Fast Draw a huge advantage. (A double action revolver cocks and fires in the same 1/2 Phase Action.) Using the GM Permission note on p. 73, "a character can make a DEX or Fast Draw roll to cock a pistol taking zero phase, or to do so while on the move. A failed roll results in no special penalty, it just takes the usual Half Phase to cock." I'd allow a DEX roll at -3 (seems a…

In the book, it says that "Selected from any number of pre-designed packages" and that replicants have models. But we have just the general template... How should I create those packages?

Along with all my other projects, I am going to be doing a 1 player Kazei 5 game from time to time. While the supplement and website have a great deal of info for major NPCs/Player examples there is not as much in the way of generic enemies. Smalltime gang members, corpo security and the like. I was hoping to avoid having to create all of that and so wanted to see if anyone had resources I could tap into for help.

Giant Steam engines, Aeronaught Gyrocopters, Zeppelins air craft carriers, men in three piece suits and women in old style long dresses where a scandal is showing too much ankle. What makes for a good Steam Punk Game and what rules capture the Zeitgeist of the books and stories of the genre. I read a book that explained why you could have some modern advances but still be Steam Punk. Essentially you accepted that physics as understood in the 19th century were real. Space was not empty but filled with a medium called the Ether and that is how gravity and light propagated. What we called atoms are not protons and neutrons orbited by electrons. Instead Atom…

After digging around on the Wayback Machine and trawling through the forum here I’ve found enough information to interest me in The Kandris Seal from Hart-Felt Productions but not quite enough to answer a couple of questions about it. So: 1) Does anyone know a source for the free downloads (maps, character sheets etc) which used to be available from the now defunct Hart-Felt Productions website? The only file I could retrieve from the Wayback Machine was a PDF preview of the main book. 2) Does the supplement Steam, Savants and The Kandris Seal contain Hero stats? On balance I don’t think it does, but RPGgeek.com says otherwise. If not, do you think…

Bought a copy of Western Hero and am reading through it (thank you, Christopher R. Taylor!). Do any of the Western Herophiles have or are interested in making 6E WH character sheets for: 1. Marshall Matt Dillon (Gunsmoke) 2. Lucas McCain (The Rifleman) 3. Ben, Adam, Hoss, and Little Joe Cartwright (Bonanza)

Basics of conversion ==================== 1. Skill rolls get modified to x5% per point, so a skill roll of 11- becomes a skill roll of 55%. Maximum skills are 100% in very rare cases. Average starting characters have skill rolls of 11- (55%) or above. 2. Combat rolls: OCV Becomes a combat bonus of 5% per point of OCV. DCV creates a penalty to attackers Total Combat Value. Total Combat Value equals 55% plus OCV (OCV x5%) bonus. Combat Roll equals Total Combat Value minus opponents Defense Bonus and modifiers. - Cover modifiers of -2 (10%) to -8 (40%) are added to combat roll procedure. - Range modifiers: 4 to 8 metres = 0 9 to 16 metres = …

Abandoned building in Japan. Is that the roof or a stagnant pool? What was it used for? Was it a medical lab? A robotics company? What secrets are burried inside it?

While visiting Supermegatopia I came across these. Only of intreast to people who are into Furry super-heroes or anything close. (Note to Steve, if Hero Games ever decides to create a furry hero book I highly suggest the artists here for interior work and the cover) All art belongs to Supermegatopia

If you don't understand why this is a thank you, and you haven't checked it out already, please: So this one is actually finished! However, it's a bit niche, and out of respect for the fine people at HERO Games and those folks who publish RPG books, there are several references to other HERO Games materials (mostly Bestiaries and the like); it didn't feel right to include stuff that other people were selling, you know? A brief explanation: Chris Goodwin pitched an idea at me that tickled my fancy so thoroughly that I asked him how he planned to introduce the idea. He had hit upon the idea o…

I seem to recall a Vehicles book for 5th Edition that included a writeup for a mecha (the only one I ever recall seeing in an official Hero product, not surprising given that Steve Long reportedly disliked them), Now mecha are ridiculous as a weapons system, but keep showing up in popular culture anyway (you could say the Hulkbuster armor Iron Man used has some characteristics of a traditional mecha, and the Jaegers of Pacific Rim are classic examples in American popular culture). What I want to know is how a piloted mecha actually works in Hero.

If I obtain enough players for a game set in the World of Remnant, based on the American made anime (some would say it not anime if it made in America) called RWBY. Most of the players I have gathered so far do not know the rules they just want to role play the characters (which would require initially for me to help build their characters). Was wondering if any one has done material for RWBY [url link appreciated] ,,, it would save me oodles of extra work,

It is almost Halloween. I would like to hear about some frightening Hero System plots or stories from any genre plus any favorite rules for such things. Example: Sanity and effects it has in conveying the horror of the event or scene. Your description of a Frightening Hero System creature or your ideas for one. Maybe you have a thought or idea of a great Halloween adventure that we can all add our two cents to. here is mine to start. Coblynu, a Welsh word for Goblin. A short humanoid around 4 feet in height. Appears as an old man with oversized facial features like nose, eyebrows and ears and gnarled and knobby old knuckles. They ca…

After reading through the Beverly Hillbillies thread in this forum, it got me to thinking about another fun series from decades ago, Hogan’s Heroes. I think it could probably be done pretty well with 175-point Heroic characters. Any thoughts on abilities? I’m thinking most of them had at least a die of Luck.

I have completed and sent Western Hero to Hero Games to look over and build a cover for. Its a complete book with all you need to build characters and play the game (minus powers and modifiers etc, as not applicable in a heroic game) with a full campaign setting adapted from the original Western Hero 4th edition, plus tons of adventure ideas, campaign tips, background, maps, etc. Also, I have uploaded a file of The Greatest Guns Who Never Were, a file containing almost 50 fictional characters of western and western-inspired background from books, comics, movies, television, and radio, from Hopalong Cassidy to Mal Reynolds and all points in between. Its free …

So Season III has wrapped up with Lady Pariah as the victor and Psybolt as the runner up. Congrats to both and an extra congrats to last season's second place finisher who managed to take it this season. But that now leaves us with some time to discuss what we thought of this season and desires for next season. In general I did miss some of the back and forth of a week long 1 on 1 but I do think the fact that things are different day by day is nice. Plus this does mean that the weekly win rate is less important and each individual day becomes more important. Likewise, I liked to some level the variety in the matches but I thought that with some limitations we found ou…
