Flight, Megascale and FTL travel
I was looking up a vehicle with flight and FTL travel, and found something surprising : If I buy Flight 1m, Megascale 1m = 100 billion light-years and costs no end, I get something faster than FTL travel at less cost. Is it legal/intended ?

Killing Attack Stun Modifier & Hit Locations
I am a little confused as to how the Stun Multiplier on the Hit Location chart works in 6e. With 6e, we now only roll a 1/2d6 for the Stun Multiplier on KA (a nice change for sure). However even though this is the case, the STUN mods on the hit location chart still go up to x5. Is this working as intended as just a special benefit for the extra complexity of the Hit Location chart? Is there an alternate chart published in one of the other sourcebooks that gives an alternate chart if we did not want to have such heavy multipliers?

Time Limit, constant, persistent, etc.
I have been working with Time Limit a decent bit recently on various fantasy type powers. Time Limit on a Constant power or an Instant Power with Duration Advantage: Constant is an advantage that essentially makes a power Persistent for a limited time period. As noted on 6E1, 346, making a power Persistent is a +1/4 advantage and even the lowest Extra Phase value for Time Limit is the same as that, so GM's may wish to cap it there. I'll probably be falling into that later camp, but that's not my question here. The primary advantage granted by Persistent is to keep the power going even if the character is knocked out (or runs out of Endurance if it is required …

Can martial arts maneuvers be improved?
On pg 94 of the martial arts book it gives point costs to build maneuvers. Now I build a maneuver which has +2 OCV and +1 DCV, this costs 3 points now since the maximum amount of points a maneuver can have is 5 can I buy 2 more points of elements to the maneuver with exp or must I buy a whole new maneuver?

Why can't change environment do positive effects?
I cannot understand why change environment cannot be used for positive effects. Drain and Aid cost the same amount. So in terms of point cost positive and negative effects are considered balanced. Is there an explanation for this? Is there any reason why I shouldn't just ignore the rule and allow it to have positive effects?

Allocation of VPP and MP Framework points
Hi Steve, I have a quick clarification to ask you. Allocating points of a MP or VPP (with the "Change Powers As A Zero-Phase Action" Advantage) is defined as a Zero Phase Action. But 6e also says things like "point reserve can be allocated only once", but then gives an example of what can't be done which would involve allocating points, using the activated power, and then taking those points and reallocating to a different power and using that one - all in the same Phase. Implying (to me) that the restriction is on "double-pumping" reserve points. So is there only a single opportunity at the start of a Phase to allocate one's framework(s) and if not taken then too…

6th Edition, Basic Rules, Page 107, Col 1, Paragraph 1
In the combat example, for segment 4, why is “22” subtracted from 13, why not “20” (Defender‘s ED)? Thx.

Visable power effects
Not sure if this should be here or on the Fantasy Hero board, but here goes. If a character was buying a magical ability (ex. Demonslayer) that grants an extra 1d6 KA, and this ability gives a visable effect when used (flashes of light, sparks flying, etc..) would this be eligible for the power limitation or is it just considered to be sfx for the power? Not trying to twink. Just starting my first FH campagin and I want to get ready for the questions I know my group is gonna ask me.

Disadvantage Experiance points?
Hiya I'm a new player to Hero and I my character was recently bitten by a were creature and I was looking at the entry for a were wolf (I don't have the book since it's my GM's and even she is unsure). This is so I can mod my were creature after it and it says one of its disadvantages is Experience points. I was wondering what this disadvantage entails? I can't tell if it is supposed to mean the wear wolf doesn't get experience at all or if thats an amount of experience you just have to pay off. Thanks in advance for any help. :3

MegaScale and Variable Advantage
Since it says in the rules that a power with MegaScale can no longer be used as a "normal" power, would it be legal to use your Variable Advantage to get Megascale?

multiple movement forms
While I am pretty much sure I have figured this out based on the rules, I am still a little unsure about this... Basically, the question(s) deal with using multiple forms of movement in a single phase. It looks like if a person wants to use multiple forms of movement, that character would need to make a 1/2 move with the first power (say, Running), and then a 1/2 move with the second (such as Tunneling). The reason I believe this is the comment that you cannot use even a zero-phase action during a 1/2 move (and activating a second movement power would be a zero-phase action, correct?) If this is correct, it would seem that the running leap doesn't really wo…

dodgy dodge...
Dear Steve, I've a question regarding the dodge: is it possible to combine a dodge with target falls? the effect would be sidesteping the attack (dodge) and tripping the opponent (target falls) [similiar to the defensive trow - block, target falls) thanx in advance

Alas, poor Edsel
In all the Find Weakness furor, his Blocking question half way down the page appears to have been forgotten. Once it's answered, perhaps you can delete my post here? [You answered a host of questions al at once a few days ago and I think that one got missed. Edsel's clearly too tactful and polite to say anything, but luckily that's not a Psych Lim on *my* character sheet! ] EDIT: Oh, he got his answer and edited his post... Sorry, Steve. [since when can we edit our posts on this board??? ] Doesn't look like I can delete it, but feel free to do that for me...

[6e] Barrier with Multipower
I have a multipower and in it I have a standard barrier power Wall of Earth Barrier 4 PD/4 ED, 6 BODY (up to 12m long, 4m tall, and 1m thick), Opaque (Sight Group) just for an example from the book I use it and put it up infront of me during my first phase. Then on my second phase I can act again I switch to another power in my multipower slot Now what happens with the wall According to the text in the rule book for 6:edition it should stay there since it is a physical object? A Barrier, once created, is a physical object that remains in existence until destroyed by attacks, the passage of time, or other factors. Or does the "other factors" im…

Stretching, Maneuvers, and Time
Some questions inspired by an ill-titled prior question about stretching. Can Sweep maneuvers and similar multiple-target melee attacks be used within the whole area reachable by a stretching character? 6e1 284 describes the length of stretching as the distance stretchable "at any one time." Is stretching a zero phase action (as other kinds of power activation are) or does it take more time than that because distance has to be traversed? The grabbing example on 286 suggests the latter possibly because stretching distance is limited by the time allowed for the maneuver, but this isn't spelled out in the text for the power, so default activation would seem to be t…

HTH attack versus FORCE WALL
If a character with a ranged attack gets past the DEF of a Force Wall it goes down and the rest of the damage goes to the person inside the Force Wall. But what about an HTH attack? If it does enough body as to bring down the Force Wall what happens to the person behind the Force Wall???

Shrinking Bricks and stretching
Steve, Tried to post this but it did not post the first time. I appologize if you get this twice. Steve, I have been having trouble trying to game balance the advantages of shrinking with the disadvantages. I have been reading FAQs, books, and posts trying to figure out what would be reasonable disadvantages to shrinking. Here is my problem: I have a brick who wants to use shrinking to get around the DCV limit I have set for brick characters in my game. I am trying to be open minded and say that the brick can use shrinking but will suffer from x and y disadvantages such as he would with growth: being easier to hit and having trouble using small de…

I can't Mind Control myself... can I?
Hey Steve; I'm doing some basic spell conversions and I came across this bizarre question. The spell looks roughly like this: Oh, it's Just One Little Favor: Mind Control 6d6 (Human class of minds), AoE Nonselective (3" Radius, +3/4) (52 Active Points); Set Effect (Only to make a Single, Reasonable Request; -1/2), RSR (Enchantment, -1/2), Spell (Ench., -1/2), No Range (Spell is centered on caster, -1/2), Gestures (-1/4), Incantations (-1/4) Total cost: 15 points A fairly low level effect. But, the caster is standing in the middle of the Mind Control field. I'm leaning away from using Personal Immunity because I'm not seeing the dramatic, or common sens…

Partially Limited and Power Frameworks... I'm deeply confused
Hi Steve - I thought I knew how this worked, but now I'm not so sure... 5ER page 282, in discussing partially-Limited Powers, mentions that "You can also apply this effect to Advantages, Adders, Power Frameworks, and parts of a Power." However, 5ER page 312, in discussing partially-Limited Powers in relation to Power Frameworks, says, "A character can have a partially-Limited power in a Power Framework slot ... He cannot partly Limit a Framework's reserve or base cost, however." I had thought there was a FAQ entry indicating that the second interpretation is correct (though I can't find such an entry now). However, in reading through Vibora Bay today,…

Martial Arts and Telekinesis
I'm trying to do martial arts via telekinesis and am having some trouble understanding the rules for martial arts, as they apply to TK and being used at range. Can melee martial manuevers be used at range via telekinesis? In building custom manuevers, should I use the ranged or melee element costs? Do you have to pay extra to do this, and if so, how do you calculate the cost? I've been through the UMA section about advantaged manuevers, but what it doesn't address what to do when the str being used with the manuever already has the desired advantages.

Delayed Effect and Power Pool (clarification)
The 5E book explicitly says that if you prepare a delayed power in a VPP you can then shift the points to another power, without losing the prepared delayed power. (It also says this is true for a triggered power). However a FAQ question seems to imply the opposite, and your answer to the previous Delayed/VPP question explicitly says the opposite. Was this rule changed? Thanks, Mike
