Teleportation Gate = safe?
How does the "Gate" limitation on Teleportation relate to the advantage "Safe blind T-port"? Presumably you can see whether the destination is safe before stepping through; in fact, if the other end is inside a wall, you'd run into it if you tried.

END, END Batteries, and the Charges Limitation
How differently will END on Charges be handled from END batteries on charges? Does that mean if a charge of 10 END is not fully used up in a phase, then the whole thing is used up anyway? Same with END Batteries?

Lack of Weakness
Real simple question I guess: Character A uses Find Weakness, 11-, against Character B, with 4 pts of Lack of Weakness on his Armor (and none on his base PD.) Character A rolls a 9. Is Character B's PD halved while his Armor is at full value? Or did Character A need to state which defense he was targeting with his Find Weakness? (I heard another poster say something to that nature.)

Shape Shift vs Mental Group
When using Shape Shift vs Mental Group, what game effect does this have. For example, if a character has an ability similar to: 22 Mystic Mind: (Total: 41 Active Cost, 22 Real Cost) Mind of 1000 Incarnations: Shapeshift (Mental Group; Imitation, Variety of Shapes (any Human Mind): Limited Group of Shapes), Costs END Only To Change Shape (+1/4) (31 Active Points); Requires A EGO Roll (-1/2), Extra Time, Only to Activate Constant or Persistent Power (Full Phase; -1/4), Delayed Phase (-1/4), Concentration (1/2 DCV; -1/4) (Real Cost: 14) plus +10 Mental Defense (15 points total) (10 Active Points); Nonpersistent (-1/4) (Real Cost: 8) What are the mechanical b…

Shapeshifting - Targetting Sense
If I buy my shapeshifting for effects the smell group, and I pay for it as a non-targetting sense (which it normally is). And someone else buys up their smell group to make it a "targetting" sense, would they then be able to "smell" through my shapeshifting? It' seems that this would be the case, but that makes buying shapeshifting against all the senses as if they were targetting senses...extremely costly. Craenor

Extra Dimensional Movement
Steve - Is Extra Dimensionaly Movement inherently Constant, or is it an Instant Power? On the summary table of the Powers in FREd (pg 87), it's listed as an Instant Power. However, under the Power's main description (pg 111), it's listed as Constant. I checked the Errata and didn't see anything on this.... Thanks in advance (once again)!

Personal Immunity Abuse
Hi Steve; Im just on a roll tonight working madly away on a pet project. Sorry for the hassle OK, if I took Personaly Immunity as a Naked Power Advantage up to some tolerably high AP limit like 90, and then applied Usable by Others to that NPA, and then lent it out to 1 or more others, would the Personal Immunity apply to 1 of my powers as determined by me when I lent the NPA out, or instead would that apply to any one of the recipients powers up to the AP limit as determined by them? If the NPA limited to a specific power which it protects from and is only being bought as an NPA so that ut can be lent out via UBO, is that worth a Limitation on the NPA suc…

Half Circle Explosion and other madness
Hi Steve, Q Is it be legal to define an Explosion for +1/4 that only explosed in a half circle rather than in a radius? Basically like taking a -1 lim on the advantage itself, or would you have to apply the full +1/2 Explosion and then take a seperate limitation 'Explosion only in Half Circle'? Q If you apply Explosion to a Contant Power, would it continue to Explode each and every Phase until it terminated? Q If you buy Explosion for your Strength as a Naked Power Advantage for mega-powered punches, do you need to take Personal Immunity to avoid the backlash? Q If you had a 0 END Continuous AoE Line power (Wall of Fire basically), and you wanted…

VPP Pool Only to pay for more powers
Help me Obi Wan Long-nobi; you're my only hope! This isnt a rules question per se, since I know that this is not covered in the rule directly, so mea culpa and apologies for abusing this forum. However, I wanted to make sure you saw this and hope that you'll see fit to give it some thought and tender your valued expert opinion. While working on a Magic VPP I run into a problem dealing with the breadth of a VPP as opposed to its depth. In other words, if a VPP has 60 pool, I can get the spells appropriate to that power level in at or below that limit Active Points wise, but the sum of the Real Costs of those spells exceed the pool. I can fit too few spells i…

Recovering Aided Characteristics
Thanks in advance for answering, Steve. Say that a character has had his END and/or STUN Aided to a higher than normal amount, with the fade rate bought considerably longer than the base. When the character loses END or STUN, will his natural REC eventually restore that Characteristic to the amount that Aid raised it to, or only the normal amount it was at before being Aided?

Area Effect Targetting
With an area effect attack, can you decide to hit the target's DCV instead of the hex's DCV if lower? Such as if the target was Godzilla or the Death Star.

Points for Equipment
Steve, If I'm running a superheroic campaign and want to keep things point-balanced, do all characters in the campaign (including normals, 75-pointers, etc.) have to pay points for normal equipment (including firearms), or just those characters who are built on superheroic-level point totals? Thanks! Lord Hobie

Combined Absorption
What is the correct/preferred method for constructing an absorption (or other adjustment power) that affects two things at the same time? 30 Absorption 6d6 PD to STR/DEX or 30 Absorption 3d6 PD to STR + 3d6 PD to DEX or something else?

UOO and 0 END Persistant
Hi Steve, I read the FAQ and consulted FREd but couldnt find the answer. When granting a Power which is UBO 0 END Persistant 0 Range: Q: What is the limit to the duration that the recipient may keep the power, and does it need to be predefined when granting the power or can it be terminated at any time by the granting character? Q: Is the 'maximum range' that the recipient may travel from the granter and still keep the power equal to AP x 5 even though the Power is 0 Range? Q: If someone Suppresses or Dispels the power on the granter, what happens to the recipient(s)? Q: If someone Suppresses or Dispels the power on a recipient, what h…

Do you think it might be a good idea to put a Sticky(+1/2) in here with the guidelines for posting to this forum? This question, for instance, doesn't belong.

Question: Costs Endurance Only To Activate
Steve, Costs Endurance Only To Activate is normally a -1/4 Limitation. Could this be applied to Constant Powers as an Advantage, possibly +1/4 or +1/2? - Christopher Mullins

Defensive Dispel, etc.
1) Can a character abort to a defensive Dispel? 2) How do adjustment powers (particularly Suppress) work when only the effect of a power (as opposed to the originator) is present? Some examples of this: a) Someone wanting to use "Suppress Mind Control" on a mind controlled victim to temporarily free them. A Wall of Force spell (Force Wall), targetted by a Suppress Magic. c) Someone shooting a lightning bolt (RKA) into an anti-magic zone (Continuous AE Suppress Magic). Would it make a difference if the effect was Uncontrolled?

Selective advantage on other powers
The listing under area effect powers for selective says that it can be applied to other area powers, like darkness. How does this work? Do you have to make a to hit roll for everyone within the darkness that you want to affect? Can I apply selective to a power like invisibility, so I can be invisible to everyone except my team? If so, do I have to roll to hit everyone that I want to affect? Aylwin

shapeshift and partial activation
Can shapeshift be partially turned on to represent shifting shape part way? For example, if there was a mutant named Mr Blue with one "super power" which makes his skin blue instead of normal human color, and he bought it at the basic level 1 form visual change, could he partially turn his power on and be 50% blue, or would he have to buy an advatnage or increased number of forms adder to get the option of intermediate shapeshifting? If he would have to buy something extra, what would that extra thing be?

Resurrection (Healing Adder) II
Even at the danger of sounding stupid, can I have a concrete explanation for the Resurrection Adder? For instance, Jason The Unstoppable Serial Killer (BODY 18) gets mowed down by a machinegun which reduces his BODY score to - 20. He has Healing 2d6 (Regeneration: 2 BODY/Turn), Resurrection, Reduced Endurance (0 END), Persistent, Self Only. In an earlier thread you said all injuries that killed him would have to be healed first. When and under which circumstances would he return, and what would be his BODY score. Second example: Tough Guy dies from an extraterrestrial disease, same statistics as above. Again, when would he return - and at what point in time wou…

Do Figured CHA Change?
I seem to recall this seeing this somewhere, but can't find the reference in FRED. If you buy up a characteristic (say DEX or STR) with experience, do the figured characteristics also change? I thought they didn't, but wanted to make sure. Thanks.
