So, when and how have you used characteristic rolls in the past for your games? Not just for skills etc but just incidental stuff. For example: INT Roll to remember a fact the character learned DEX Roll to avoid a trap EGO Roll to resist CON Roll to shake off an effect or poison Presence rolls seem the least common. I used to use BODY rolls for stuff too but that's gone now.

I have a player that would like to design a drone for his character to use. I am considering making a Variable Power Pool called Drone for this I am just curious what others think would be the best solution. I know he wants a spatial awareness part of it being fed to his helmet I am thinking fine, but he has to process it as a person just as our drone operators do. Any suggestions for this would be appreciated also if there are any prefab modules out there that have drones great. I have the equipment and gadgeteer prefabs and didn't see it in there. Thank you all for your feedback.

Regarding the Children of the Hydra in the movie Jason and the Argonauts (1963). I thought that this was an easy build - Summon up to 7 (8x) 135pt Skeletons (6E Bestiary), 7 Charges, Slavishly Loyal, Must be Summoned on natural earth (-1/4) But with the way that Charges interact with Summon then not quite. In the movie, each Charge is a tooth, and the number of teeth that you hurl to the ground creates a skeleton. But Charges allow you to bring forth the maximum number of creatures summonable with each charge. This would result in 49 skeletons (of which you may have at most 7 at one time, but that's still too many). If I build it as a …

Was going through some old stuff I had boxed up for a move a long time ago and came across this treasure. I'm not sure why it looks black (lousy camera) but it is actually navy blue. I wore this so much back in the day! So proud to own it! Happy gaming! Laser

So, has anyone here attempted to do a Hero System campaign set in Lego World? My wife has gotten the idea for a campaign set in a Lego World (Movie/TV style, not video game style) , and she asked me for mechanics recommendations and thoughts, so I had some ideas... All characters have a VPP and Inventor skill for building things out of bricks, but they have to break things around them to get bricks to build with. Characters cannot die, but also cannot heal naturally and have to be repaired or rebuilt, either by themselves if capable, but otherwise they're at the mercy of their fellow players and their "healing/medicine" rolls. Any failed roll …

How best to build a power that has 4 distinct powers that are useable by others with 12 charges between the powers and the twelve charges/uses divided between the characters. I now this vague but still wondering. I figure Multipower the best even thou 2 of the four powers are not normally permitted into Multipower or build 1 charge Multipower and by 2 quantities of the power. https://anime.team-rwby-project.jp/en/special/shion/

I was curious as to if this character concept was possible or viable. A character that is able to invent to weapons and Armour for the team, as in create a jet-pack and hand it to a team member for them to use. My first thoughts are that it would make things unbalanced with regards to power levels of the team members over time, any thoughts on such a character?

Ported over from a Champions thread being derailed...context below. My own KA epiphany was when I realized I gave agent-types KAs because they had a better chance, at those lower DCs, of punching some STUN through to the Supers. Wait, if the same DCs do more stun past defenses on average, isn't that a sign it's not balanced, even ignoring "increased STUN multiple"? As another approach to KA's on 1d6 per 5 points, consider counting BOD like we do now, except that we get 1 BOD on 1-5, 2 on a 6. This averages 3.5 BOD per 3 DC's, just like the pre-6e KA model. That's the easy part. We also want to average roughly 9 1/3 STUN on 3d6 if the goal is to match a pr…

Hey all I'm new to TTRPG and decided to learn the HERO system, I'm trying to create my first character to get a better understanding of everything though I'm stumped at creating my first power as I decided to try something more complicated. I'm trying to create a power for my first character though I'm not sure which framework to use, the power is able to create "puppets" out of the surrounding materials that will fight for you. like for example in a concrete parking lot the power would use the concrete in the ground to pop out concrete puppets and leave puppet-shaped holes in the ground, in a field it'll create dirt puppets or wood puppets when near trees and so on an…

For those of you who have read the Black Company you know the Taken are hard to kill. Limper gets his head cut off and a demon-dog carries around that head getting shamen and then priests to build him new bodies. Once of wicker than of clay. Soulcatcher gets her noggin chopped off by Croaker and years later she forces him to stitch it back on. In the mean time she walked around carrying her head in a box and was able to function yet at a limited level. She was still able to summon an imp, cast sleep spells and perform other sorcery. In GURPS hard to kill could likely cover this. How would you build it in HERO as a power, ability or spell which I might call Life-…

Not sure what happened to the rules between 5th and 6th, but I can't find a clear explanation in 6th edition. Old rule use to say anyone out of combat can move every segment but have major penalties to ocv and dcv. It's been 20 years so I can't quote them verbatim, but I was looking for something similar in 6th edition.

Reading Healing power, it states it can only restore a stat to its maximum effect once a day but when I read the other adjustment powers it seems as if they don't have this limitation, Is this true?

If a player builds a character and wants to place his powers together in a multipower. But he has a giant 150 pool of darkness, then buys a large collection of 50 point powers knowing he may select any 3 as a time. Would that bother you as a fellow player in the game? As a GM this does not bother me at all, and playing with the numbers he could actually get a VPP for about 20 more points. But I am curious if this is generally socially considered bad.

How would the following power build work exactly? Healing BODY 4d6, Damage Over Time (4 damage increments, damage occurs every 20 Minutes, +1/4) (50 Active Points) I've never tried adding DOT to Healing before so wasn't sure how it would affect the base ability. I'm thinking you could be healed, then, if you got injured again after the first application of Healing was applied, you'd get automatically healed again twenty minutes after the first healing occurred, then you could get injured again then healed again twenty minutes later, and so on for a few iterations. This setup seems to function a bit like using the Decreased Re-Use Durati…

Just looking for confirmation on an answer I probably already know. On Delayed Effect you have the option of casting it beforehand OR just using it as normal regardless. So even if you "baked" it into a spell system the Mage could cast it regardless of saved slots.

In the Hero Rules question, someone brought up the point that a Plasma Rifle has a stated radius which is at odds with its mechanical radius based on how explosion is defined. There's an easy fix for this: allow explosion to be prorated to the area effect size purchased. So if you buy a 12d6 blast with an 6m radius, it loses 2d6 per 1m distance.

I am using hero designer to make an animal shape-shifting character and I am confused. After adding the multiform power, do I need to make each additional animal form as a new character or is it a new prefab/list/ something else entirely. I have added 8x form for multiform. Any assistance would be appreciated

Mental power types are something I don't consider very often; they tend to be pretty pricey. But I've got a weird idea I'm trying out right now, and I noticed something. In HD, under Mind Scan (6E1 261) in the power block and first paragraph, +2 Character Points for every +1 OMCV with Mind Scan is an adder...which means it also adds to overall END costs, and if you want, say, Reduced END, is increasing the base cost. However, in CSLs for Mental Powers (6E1 71): +1 OMCV with a single mental power i(Mind Scan for this) s 1 point. As a skill level, it doesn't cost END, and it doesn't impact the base cost for the Mind Scan, as it's separate. …

I was doing some simple math and the numbers I got were very crazy so instead of believing the result I figured I am crazy, so wanted to see someone else say it first. How many times stronger (dead lift wise) is a 60 STR to a 10 STR?
