I am going to start a new game that is inspired by the TV show Gotham (and Arrow, and others). This will be using the Dark Champions The Animated Series type of characters but with a twist. All characters (including the PCs and villains) are just starting out. The game will be played on rpol.net Every character will be the newest of the new. Wet behind the ears and so forth. This will also go for the would be villains. We will be using Champions 6th Edition with only 200 total points. With 50 complications (not added to the 200) So, what does it mean it's Gotham inspired? This means that each character will start out as a pretty much normal person…

Sort of. We will build agents of 50 points of characteristics and skills, +50 points of spy gadgets and weapons, with 50 points of disads, in Hero 3, 4, 5, or 6. We use the Hero rules but play through this module: I will GM. It will be entirely by email (that's my shtick). I will mostly follow the module but room must be left for artistic license! Respond here if you might be interested. PM me instead if you're shy. Or just post ideas to jazz this experiment up!

Hello again friends, I have been off the boards other than the random trolling session for the last .years. During that time I have moved twice, gotten married and all but given up on my life long past-time. Cut to today and I live north of Seattle and I may have just gotten over my last game group of almost a decade. I still talk to some of my friends from the group at random, but armed with the knowledge that I am not going to move back to Boise I have to seek new adventure with like minded people. I am a GM looking for players. I can join a group that already has a GM, but honestly I haven't had much experience over the last 30 years on the other side of th…

Checking to see if there would be any interest in a Dark Champions style game, roughly 300 starting points, with a house rule of no VPP or multipowers, and limiting megascale. A once a week game for 3 hours, with 4-6 players. Think characters at the netflix superhero level, plus vampires and werewolf's similar to Underworld. Supers are out in the public, but its new. Supernaturals are still hiding. There would also be guns. Tech level would be close to 2020 real. I'm thinking 6th edition. I might be able to drag in 3 people.

Is anyone interested in a Teen Champions 6th edition game? Would be online using Discord and Roll20, Saturday 8p to 12 midnight Central time; once every two or three weeks. I would prefer new to Hero System players [they get priority]. This will be a role play heavy game, but light hearted in tone, think X-Men [copyright Disney] or DC SuperHero Girls [copyright DC] with teen angst turned down. I have not yet got all the planning done yet for the game, that the stage of asking if interest.

So I've recently been exposed to Play By Post (PBP) gaming, hitherto being blithely unaware. (Thanks HeroFan.) I am discovering that it has a distinct strength with regard to role playing games, and a distinct weakness. It is not simply an inferior way to game, in at least one major way, I have to my delight discovered it is superior! PBP is quite a bit superior with regards to the investment in role play by the players. It is vastly inferior with regard to the tabletop wargame aspect. It lends itself very badly to turn by turn, initiative ranked, rolled dice combat resolution. Despite this, I believe Hero System may work just fine anyway for such gaming, on …

I want to do a "pick-up" game of Champions, where it's really sandboxy and not overplanned. I remember games where we basically started with whose Hunteds showed up and winged it from there. This is that kind of game. It has to be by email, due to time restrictions and internet restrictions on my end. Submit characters by posting here or by sending a Private Message. Or ask questions. Just send me or post the standard level of character with the standard amount of Disadvantages. You can send me a character in 3rd, 4th, or 5th Edition. I can work across the systems. Game is set in 1981. If there is interest, my pl…

Long time Champions player looking for players to form a group or a group looking for a player. Happy to run a game here in the Raleigh/Greensboro areas of NC if I can wrangle enough players. I'll be notified of replies here, so reply away!

I really really want to play Fantasy Hero, but I'll play any genre and any edition. I'm in Hillsboro but don't mind making the trek to Portland as long as it's not on a weekday evening.

Is anyone a Champions 6e player that lives in central Arkansas? I am looking to connect with people nearby to communicate with about Champions and take part in adventures. Online is good for now, but I am hoping to connect with people who my son and I can play adventures with in person eventually. I use to play the original Champions when I was a teen and am now introducing my teenage son to Champions 6e. We are kind of stumbling along with it by ourselves. I am the GM for him and me, and we would like to get others involved.

Greetings! So far facebook, meetups, and, sadly, this forum don't seem do well when trying to find other hero game groups (at least in my experience thus far). Does anyone know of any other places where one can search/find hero game groups/players? Our current 3 member group is in the Orlando, FL area and we would like to expand/add more members or join any other existing hero game groups within our driving reach. Thank you!

Planning a Standard Superhero level game (400 points, 75 in Complications). Basically using the Champions Universe (with the occasional odd tidbit ‘borrowed’ from other places). For those unfamiliar with the Champions Universe It’s a kitchen-sink type of setting, heavily influenced by the comics published by ‘The Big Two’. I favor clear distinction between good and evil (very limited shades of grey), with a feel more ‘four-color’ than ‘grim-dark’. Experience with Hero System not required - I enjoy teaching the system to new players. You can ping me here or via Discord (John Desmarais#6750) if interested or if you have questions.

I’m prepping for a move to the a little town near Durham, NC. While I’m assuming the little town will be a total loss vis-á-vis a gaming community- but I’ll be less than half an hour from Durham. Speak to me Herodom, are there folks in Durham?

Greetings all, I am looking to join a group in the SF East Bay. I'm local to Pleasant Hill, Concord, and Walnut Creek. In the past I have been known to drive an hour and a half to get to a game, but I'm not the young geek I used to be. I may top out at 45 minutes depending on when the group plays. I'm hoping for Fantasy Hero, Star Hero (Alien Wars?), Post-Apocalyptic Hero, or Pulp Hero. I recognize in my own play tendencies of The Pro From Dover, The Builder, The Combat Monster, and The Plumber. Is anyone looking for a player? 🙂

Looking toward post-panic. My FLGS closed its doors 3 weeks before C19 hit, so I have found myself without a gaming location. I do have a small group of friends that I game with on an irregular basis, though it looks like we will have the opportunity to game a lot more in the future. They were owners of the FLGS and as seems to be the case with game shop owners, their free time to game goes down drastically . Normally I have been running games with a horror content using Chaosiums Call of Cthulhu or Pelgranes GUMSHOE. A while back I got Sandy Petersen's Cthulhu Mythos for D&D 5th Edition and have put together a game for after the panic w…

Teen Champions - Meyerson Academy - Make a Character and Play 8/1/2020 Do you have any friends, spouses, children, or friends of your children who should learn how to PLAY Champions and DESIGN a character? This game is designed to teach complete newbies, even those who have NEVER played a RPG. You will make a teen-aged superhero character. Characters will be designed using modified Champions Character Creation Cards. Then the character will go to the danger room and you and your classmates will have to fight A.I. controlled robots and other robotic dangers. Bring your imagination, a character concept, and be ready to roll some si…
