    Best systems for mecha

Fighting the D20 monolith has not been easy, as many bew D20 products have been very tempting to me. Most notably the ones involving anime and mecha themes.

I have D20 Mecha on preorder, along with D20 Big Eyes, Small Mouth and Dream Pod 9's D20 Mecha Compendium .

Am I am idiot or what? I guess so. I have several companies I want to support and can't support them all at the level I'd like.
6th Edition is for entertainment purposes only.

The Jovian Chronicles setting from dream pod 9 is the best cinematic mecha system I've seen in a long time.

Their heavy gear system is just as good for grittier games.

I'm a fan of Mekton Zeta. With it you can customized not only the mecha, but also its weapons.

Heavy Gear is good, but the survivability of the machines is a little too realistic for me (eg-short life span). Mekton seems to be a little more resiliant. This can, of course, be cured with giant frigging guns

So far, Heavy Gear has been my mecha game of choice. I like the realism and it has a great vehicle creation system. They also cover all aspects of a mecha, not just how much armor it has and how many weapons it carries. My only complaint would be the books are a little on the expensive side, but I do believe that has changed in the last year or so.

Mekton Zeta also had the nicest rules for different-sized stuff. Their scaling rules are so good that I've often thought about adapting them to HERO.
