    Millenium City Ship Date?

    Steve, Darren, & Co.:

I know that on the 2003 release schedule it says "March" for Millenium City, but do you have any notion WHEN in March?

The reason I ask is that one of the names I had included was for a very good friend, and they happen to be staying in town until April 2. Normally they live in South Dakota (a considerable distance away) and visit 2 or 3 times a year. I think it would be REALLY neat to be able to gift them with a copy of the book in PERSON, before they have to go home -- otherwise I get to mail it to them.

So...any word on the expected release date? And does anybody know of a game supplier that offers Overnight shipping on quickly-stocked HERO products?

(If the answer is "Well, it won't ship until April" or "The last day of March, so there's no way on Earth for you to acquire one before they leave" I of course understand...that's business / that's life! I just think it would be neat to do it "in person" if there's any way I can swing it.)

Unfortunately, release dates are not an exact science. The best we can give until a few days before printing is a range about a week wide- frex, Millennium City should drop from the printer sometime between the 24th and 30th of March. From there it generally takes 1-2 weeks to reach store shelves, depending on location and the relationship the store has with its own distro. If everything went perfectly, you might have a copy in your store by the end of the month; however, it could be as late as April 10th or even later, and we at Hero have no control over that. Sorry! dw

Thanks, Darren. I was *afraid* it would be something like that, but hey -- I can hope, right? I realize at least *some* of the problems involved, so don't worry that I'll "take it personally" if I can't get it as soon as I wish.

Well, considering that my FLGS still hasn't seen UV or TE yet, I think that the "projected" ship date of MC is pretty good!

As a quick update, the MC bluelines and a corrected file were FedEx'd to the printer today, to arrive there tomorrow. So hopefully, MC printing will begin soonly.

Thanks for the update, Steve. I'll keep my fingers crossed -- you never know, things my break my way!

Say, are the things usually available from YOUR on-line store quickly after the printer gets done with them, or is another store my best chance for a quick acquisition?

Our books are not available in our own e-store until 4-5 months after they ship, to allow retailers a fair shot at selling them first. Click on the "Hero Retailers" link for a list of stores that do carry our books as soon as they're available, though. dw

    Darren,

That's both understandable & a fine policy that acknowledges the vital place of the retailers & distrubutors! Had I thought about it, that MIGHT have occured to me first.

One more reason to say "BRAVO!" to DOJ Games!
