What books could I buy to get detailed write ups of present day weapons, equipment, and vehicles? I'm guessing Ultimate Vehicle covers vehicles, but if there are any other books with some I'd be interested in those too.

Dark Champions will have a big section on gear. Beyond that, you'll have to wait for The Ultimate Weapon, be it one volume or multiple volumes, which will cover the subject of weaponry in exhaustive detail.
