    Fantasy Knowledge Skills

    I was trying to put a list together with the ***bulk*** of Knowledge skills already worked out so that players could see what was fitting. I got a bunch done but then decided that maybe others could give me a hand out and review the list for what I am sure is many many ommissions.

    ***[permission] = GM approval. Not many Fantasy Hero Characters will know a whole lot about the world in total and the way it functions.

    The World & Geographical
    KS: The World [permission]

    I think it's a great idea to have a big list for people to pick appropriate KSes from. I hate to just limit players to picking from a list, though. KSes are one thing players can buy that can really set the character's background in a way that Riding skill and a 3 pt. level with swords can't.
    ...and that's when the destruction began.

    Yep, not meant to be a strait jacket just a guide to some of the biggies and some fantasy staples.

    I hate have KS: Nobility thinking to be a knightly kinda guy then find out that I need KS: Code of Chivilary to avoid embarrasing myself.

    Here are some suggestions:

    KS: History (region, race, etc.)
    KS: Art (specific arts, such as painting, fresco, archetecture, sculpture, etc.)
    KS: Lore (think D&D Bard type skill)
    KS: Arcane Items
    KS: Arcane Symbols

    Just some thoughts.

    Well, you could just call it KS: Cultures as a vague catch-ass for the Peoples of your setting. Id make the knowledge known very....uh... light, since it encompasses so many different cultures. Maybe KS: Peoples of [setting name], with more detailed KS: People of [kingdom/empire/etc] or something like that.

    Hrmmm.

    since this is what usually most people name their own race.

    For a more fantasy feel you could swipe a page from ED and call them Namegivers
    or KS: Societa
    another option is to find the root words for Society in your local Dictionary and work from there
    Master of the 14th Millenium and more on Dollwizard!!!!!

    I used to play an assassin that had KS: Anatomy and Physiology, but nowadays that would more properly be a SC, I think.
