Do you remember the one where he found Mantis Morlo's hide-out by taking a Legion cruiser into orbit, then using his penetra vision to scour the world from surface to core, one "layer" at a time? If he hadn't had Telescopic as a part of his N-Ray Vision, he couldn't have seen Morlo from that range.

Just a thought...and I'll also say "THANKS!" for making me think of that, because it's not something I had remembered for MY write-up!

Thank you. It is a very good idea, but alas it is not mine. It was how we built PCs like this in New World, OKC. MPs are made for these things.

If you would (could) note I bought each of his Ultra-Sense powers with +10 Telescopic for the whole sense group. HD did not make that clear in the Export but I included the HD file on the site.

    You are again welcome...I think?

    Re: New Character

    1) Multiple slots representing a single power...good idea. Why didn't I think of that?

Because I am smarter than you? Kidding!

    Oh…oh, now that hurts.

    2) The Tunneling through 30 DEF defined as Superspeed...how does that work? I'm not sure I get that one.

Jo Nah gets Superstrong. Then he plows right through anything BUT Inertron. Get it?

My question is, shouldn’t this be under Ultra Strength, not Ultra Speed?

    4) Ultra speed onslaught...should be no range.

Since it is a Hand to Hand attack it *is* no range...It represents him moving at speed through a large 24" radius area and wiping the floor with whatever he finds.

I got the SXF, but I forgot the H-H no range thing. I'm not looking too bright at all now, am I?

    5) Telepathic Earplugs...only to other earplug users is worth some points under the Others Must Have Mind Link limitation.

Maybe...but hey he's 1180 points...plus as Dr. Anomaly pointed out they have been shown to allow telepathic communication with anyone, although I had only seen them as a team communication device.

I wasn’t aware of the range of the earplugs powers. The earplugs are mighty indeed! (I just wanted to type a sentence that bizarre.)

    6) The characteristics are getting muddled up above from his different powers...HD issue more than yours.

What? !!! Actually he has only +85 STR in the Ultra Energy MP. His Armor adds +30rPD and +30rED. What stats are screwed up? Tell me I want to fix it.

Note the base STUN, as well as base run, swim, and leap.

    7) Finally, I think Self destructive should be worth I few more points.

Jo is recovering...he is not suicidal, just makes foolish life choices since his one true love was "killed'.

I wasn’t thinking full blown suicidal, perhaps not even a deathwish, but a basic self-destruction through foolish choices as you say should be worth more than 5 pts. (Personal experience and all that.)

    8) Overall, very cool. Now...
    Do him for 350 points.

When do you want him by? How many and what limitations do you want? I can easily do him as a battlesuit PC.

Ten minutes ago and no limitations, of course. (Oops, sorry, thought I was back at work for a second there.)

*EPIC* doesn't have a Terminal Velocity!

The intellectual incoherence is stunning. Basically, the political philosophy of the GOP right now seems to consist of snickering at stuff that they think sounds funny. The party of ideas has become the party of Beavis and Butthead. -Paul Krugman

You know, Rufus is the whole reason that show exists. You go, you crazy naked mole rat!

They have some great villains on the show, too. Drakken, Monkey Fist, the mad scientist beani baby collecter chick (I forget her name just now)- there's some good inspiration there.

The first is his chassis. Robert strongly resembles C-3PO in the Phantom Menace. Exposed circuits, conduit, hydraulics, and a clear dome exposing his brain make him look vulnerable and inhuman looking. Armored plates called his Battle Sheath fold out from his chest, shoulders, and hips on command and provide his impressive abilities. In this form Robotman is gleaming silver and is handsome is a bland metallic way. In either form his optics glow red and occasionally flash brightly when he is agitated. Robert relies on body language and inflection to express emotion as his features are incapable of expressing emotions.

When not adventuring Robotman covers his chassis in finely tailored clothes and can be seen at the plaza talking with people and ‘nursing’ a drink.

Personality: One would expect Robert Secord to be despondent over his condition. One would expect Robert Secord to be a self loathing creature questioning his very existence. One would be wrong. No, Robert is not happy about his transformation. He lacks the softness of human eyes, the delicate touch of human skin or the reassuring thud of a human heart in his chest, but he has gained a new life. He expected to die in the crash, or on that table in Panama. He didn’t. Somehow, he was given a second chance. Robert is all about making the most of second chances.

Robert is friendly, and does his best to make people comfortable around his new self. He enjoys the sense of power his new form brings, but is very aware; through the example of his parents and of the Global Guardians what it takes to be a hero. Robotman is determined to be a great hero.

Quote:“Make this one good, boys! It’s for the cameras!” Robotman as he wades into battle mighty fists swinging.

Background: Robert Secord was a successful stuntman. He grew up watching footage of Evil Kneivel jumping cars and whatever else he could line up. He watched the ‘disaster epics’ of the 1970’s with awe and amazement at the craft of filmmaking. From that early age Robert was determined to get into Hollywood.

Robert got his big break in High School while washing cars at the local detailing shop. A man asked him if he would be interested in making some quick cash as an extra on a upcoming flick. Robert did what nearly half of Angelinos would and jumped at the chance to be on camera, even as human furniture. Robert did the job, got his fifty bucks for pumping gas into a hot car filled with hotter chicks. The scene was cut from the film, but his presence on the set of “The Cannonball Run” had changed him. Robert knew then and there he would be a stuntman.

Robert was persistent, and finally was given an apprentice slot in a major stunt coordination company. Robert worked hard and in four years learned all about his craft. He developed stunts that amazed audiences in several major movies and at the age of 27 was talking to agents about moving “in front of the camera”. His knowledge of the industry, good looks, and talent were marketed as the ‘next big thing’ in the action adventure set.

His first major film was to be shot in Panama. Robert was a dedicated, no driven, man to see this venture become a success. He got the producers and insurance agents to agree to allow his to perform all of his own stunts. He brought in his old stunt coordination team and designed and choreographed all of the films action sequences. The movie was 73 days into a 165 day filming when tragedy struck.

Robert was piloting a helicopter over the Panamanian jungle, laying down a convincing illusion of devastation from the Gatling guns when the tail rotor exploded. Helicopter careening out of control, Robert nonetheless managed to guide the dying helicopter away from the cast and crew and crashed it away from bystanders.

When the rescue teams pulled his body from the wreckage, his body was broken and severely burned. Doctors at the hospital did not give him a good prognosis for recovery. The doctors told his friends and colleagues that he would likely die from his injuries. Filming was terminated, and backers pulled out, and lawsuits were filled against the stunt coordination company, and the owners of the helicopter.

Lord Doom was, however, uninterested in all that, he was developing a new weapon system and needed an operator. He instructed his team to procure a quality candidate. One was found in a Panama City burn unit. A retrieval unit was dispatched. Between shift change on the first day after the accident Robert Secord was taken from the shattered ruins of his old life and imminent death and flown to a hidden Caribbean lab where a new life would be constructed for him.

In an intensive operation performed by Lord Doom himself, Robert’s Brain was transplanted into a new body. One made of Molybdenum/Titanium alloy, instead of living flesh. The procedure took days as the disembodied brain was pared away of unneeded tissue and adapted to receive new electronic inputs. Robert’s mind was by necessity fully aware of the procedures. Lesser men were known to be driven mad by the process; Lord Doom was surprised at the collected “voice” that issued over the commlink as the procedure progressed. He was certain that this candidate would prove successful.

Robert was flooded with sensory input as the chassis was powered up for the first time. He was aware of precise temperature, lumen, and decibel levels. As he struggled to make sense of the input, it became clear he was being ordered to rise. He did so. Balance made perfect by the internal gyros and servomotors of his chassis. As he rose he saw his new “face”. Robert screamed. His electronic voice giving sound to the shock and anguish few humans have ever felt. He had no face, no skin, he was humanoid only in the barest sense of the word.

Lord Doom chuckled. “This is only your chassis. To facilitate maintenance and other needs we have to separate the weapon system from the unit from time to time. This form shall suit you well for those periods.” At Lord Doom’s command a trio of technicians began to affix plates to the chassis. Interlocking with a click a more human and solid appearance took shape.

Robotman looked back at Robert in the mirror. He was sleek and silver, he was handsome by certain standards.

“That will do. That will do.” said Lord Doom as Robert’s external feeds were closed down. “Sleep well my Robotman.”

Robert awoke in a seedy hotel in Montevideo, Uruguay, his heavy form crushing the cheap mattress. He remembered nothing of Lord Doom, or his transformation. He crashed through the walls as he fought to regain control. Robert screamed again as he removed his “helmet” in front of the shattered and stained mirror and the faceless horror of his electronic visage met his electronic eyes again. He was no longer even remotely human.

The Police found him in the restroom laughing, a cruel and shallow laugh that gave way to joy. He called his lawyer from jail. Everyone was shocked that Robert Secord was alive. They were more shocked that he was a cyborg, far more machine than man. His stunt coordination company had filed for bankruptcy; the production company was uninteresting in reshooting the film with a ‘new’ star. In the end Robert decided to stay in South America to build a new life. He had some money from the settlement, and his savings so he got a condo in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He shifted through life as he learned about his new body and its amazing capacities.

When the Dead Wolves attacked a local bank, Robert knew he had to intervene. Using his powerful battle sheath Robert won the day. The mercenary group scattered, and fled the field of battle without the loot they desired. Robert was hailed as a hero. Realizing again that with great power comes great responsibility he dedicated his new life to the defense of the people of Buenos Aires.

Unknown to Robert once a week a tight beam heavily encoded signal is sent to Lord Doom apprising his maker of his progress. So far Lord Doom is pleased.

Powers/Tactics: Powers:
Primarily Robotman is an advanced cyborg. Only his brain is organic, and that rests in a self contained and insulated unit in his head. Being totally separated from the environment he is totally immune to disease, chemicals and toxins and could survive in a rigorous environment such as space or underground indefinitely. He no longer requires nourishment as the advanced technology utilizes solar energy to catalyze ATP. Preservatives and nanotech devices in the support fluid should support the brain for centuries.

His battle sheath is considered taxing on his internal energy supplies and by default is not “on”. When activated the servomotors grant him near superhuman agility and speed and near Maxi-man level strength. He is nearly invulnerable to harm as a result of the ceramic and alloy plates that comprise the battle sheath.

Robert is certain that his robot body holds many surprises. He recently discovered how to activate powerful rocket units in his feet that can propel him at great speed through the air. Weapon systems, ECM and communications gear are likely already incorporated into his form, all Robert needs is time to unlock them.

Campaign Use: Brick

*EPIC* doesn't have a Terminal Velocity!

The intellectual incoherence is stunning. Basically, the political philosophy of the GOP right now seems to consist of snickering at stuff that they think sounds funny. The party of ideas has become the party of Beavis and Butthead. -Paul Krugman
