Should the playtest board be 'unlinked' from this one?

Many times, when I come to the message board, the 'new message' light for the Digital Hero forum is on, but the only new messages are (apparently) from the playtest board. Now, I have a subscription to Digital Hero, so I am eligible to playtest, but I'm not currently doing that (not enough time, mostly). It's kind of annoying to think there are new messages on the board when there really aren't. Especially since I can get to the playtest board from the main board.

Would it be a good idea to 'unlink' the playtest board from this one? Or at least 'unlink' the new post indicator (if that can even be done separately)?

I would vote yes... I'm not even eligible to peek into the playtest area, but I'm a contributing artist for Digital Hero. I check here to see if anyone has any comments on my work (no one has... ) So the playtest area giving constant false positives as to messages here is quite annoying.

Well let me be the first to say: Excellent Work!

I have really enjoyed that article and the artwork was a perfect match for the work which Chris did in TE. When I first saw the art I thought it was from extra pieces done but not use in the TE book.

I hope to see more of your work in future issues, as well as within HERO System books.

Thanks Monolith! I appreciate the kind words... but just wait until Dave posts the cover for DH #9! The deadlines were extremely tight on the alien pics (7 complete pictures in 9 days, start to finish), but I had more time on the cover picture and I think it turned out great!

I'd like to echo the votes given so far, both in favor of separating the two forums and in praise of Tom's artwork.

    Thumbs up

I concur with severing the link between the two boards, for the reasons so eloquently expressed above.

Same here. I contribute to DH, but don't subscribe, so I can't get into the playtest section. When I come to the DH section, I'd like to see if anyone has commented on my work (anyone? anyone?), and get fooled by the playtest posts.

Hmm ... maybe posting this when the Hero crew was away at the convention was a bad idea. (i.e., "bump")

This is basically my reasoning as well. Often I'd like to see if something's been posted in the regular section of the DH forum, but it's hard when the Playtest section is busy.
