I normally read the Champions mailing list postings through the web site so I don't have to get them in my e-mail box. This evening I tried to go to them ... and they were 404.

There was some suspicion that the archives were being mined for spamming purposes. So only subscribers can see the archives. You could go to http://www.sysabend.org/mailman/listinfo/champ-l , subscribe, and turn off mail delivery.

Yep, I've been thinking about turning off mail delivery and just reading from the archives occasionally anyway. It seems like worthwhile discussions on the list are becoming fewer and farther between. It's much more lively around here.
