Hero Designer alt commands for menus

I don' t know if this is a bug or not but I purchased the windows version of the hero designer and after an ergonomic lesson at work I was trying to use hero designer with all keyboard commands alone. However I couldn't get alt+letter to work to get me into the menus so alt+f didn't work to get me into the file directory i had to use the mouse. Has anyoen else had this problem? Hmm i have investigated more and it seems that the alt+f works until I open a character sheet. As soon as I do that alt+f doesn't do anything, even after I close the character. I am running version 1.23

Is there a reason that the Prefab menu has no alt + letter ability?

Also I was wondering if there is a way to use the keyboard and tab between tabs or form fields or anything in hero designer or is the program only designed to use the mouse?

Hmm well playing more i found that after opening a new character you must click somewhere to use tabs and then the alt+f works again.

I have similar problems...

The alt+letter or ctrl+alt+letter or ctrl+letter, all of these posibilities are inconsistent. They seem to work for a while then stop working, then work again after 15 minutes for no apparent reason.

Maybe this is something with the JRE and not Hero Designer itself? Have no idea

Well, if someone figured it out - please post your solution.

The solution was posted in the initial post.

It's a JRE issue...you have to have focus within one of the screen elements. Basically, just click on one of the screen components and then the alt+ keys will function again.
