    smart bullet weapons modeling

I've gotten my inspiration for a weapon from two sources- the force-lance of Andromeda , and the SHAKK from John Barnes' Crux Ops series. I've done things like AOE Selective, but my current idea is as follows:

RKA, autofire - indirect - no range modifier. Would I be best off with a custom modifier no sweep penalty as well? The ability of these weapons to selectively seek targets over a wide area unseen by the operator is a tricky thing. For example, a SHAKK-like weapon, a NIF, is in one story programmed to 'kill everyone within a two-kilometer radius', and fired in a long burst into the air. Flechettes slip under doors and into vehicles to kill people around the airport where the Crux Ops agents are hiding, providing a distraction. Another story, a SHAKK is fanned around and the hypersonic micro-rockets coordinate with each other to identify and distribute themselves optimally amongst an army of targets, taking out officers to throw the rest into chaos. Any suggestions for this weapon?

Once you get to the point where the missiles are doing things like that, you might want to consider buying them as Followers or a Summon instead of as a given Attack Power. That way, you just program them with their orders and send them on their way. The Ultimate Vehicle has examples of this, though they are larger missiles than you would be looking for.

For the stunt with the missiles killing the officers, I suppose you could take Area Of Effect Radius, Selective, and several Combat Skill Levels with the Attack so that they are likely to hit. You may or may not also need some kind of an Enhanced Sense to spot the victims, only for targeting them.

The Kill Everyone In 2 km stunt is a straight Area Effect attack, possibly with Hole In The Middle (they don't attack the people near the launch point).

Both of these might also have Limitations for the time it takes the missiles to reach their various targets, something like Extra Time: Missiles Travel At 100" Per Phase, minimum of one Extra Phase to reach targets (-1/2). Also take Can Be Individually Missile Deflected, probably a -1/2, if such a Power exists in your campaign.
