New Minion Control Sheet Export Template -- PLEASE TRY!!

I couldn't find any existing export templates for minion control sheets, so I went ahead and created my own. I've attached the prototype and I would love for people to try it out and give me feedback.

For some reason, I can't attach an ".hde" file, so I changed the extension to ".txt". Just change it back again and pop it in the right directory, restart Hero Designer, open up a minion character, select the Minion Control export template and "preview" it. The directory is probably the same for you as for me:

    C:\Program Files\HeroDesigner\ExportTemplates

The bottom of the sheet is for keeping track of the STUN, END, BODY, and charges for each individual minion, similar to traditional minion control sheets.

For the top of the sheet, rather than following a traditional organization, I tried to organize it in a handy "information at your fingertips" style (in theory, anyway), in a logical order (I hope). From top to bottom, you got Perception, Movement, Attacks, and Defense.

Please try it out and give me feedback.

    Thanks!
    Nick

Very nice! I think this will come in handy and make handling multiple agents in a scenario easier.

If you could improve upon the layout out to where it will fit on one page I would like this sheet. As it is now, it breaks oddly and would awkward for me to use. But you have the right idea. Keep it up, and thanks.

I heartily agree that that would be good, but I don't know how to do that using HTML and JavaScript. Does anybody know how to do that? Are there any export templates that have some mechanism forcing them to fit onto a single page?

    Thanks,
    Nick

A couple things that may help:

    1. IE supports a "page break" syntax. Look at the default character sheet template for an example of this.

    2. You can "count" the number of abilities in a given section....inserting a page break if there are too many and beginning a new section to cover the remainder. look into the START and STOP attributes of the various containers (in the docs). They specify which index to begin and end with. If absent, the system will simply begin with 0 and go all the way through the list.

    3. Finally, simply changing the font size and layout parameters can often help. There are numerous CSS settings surrounding the layout of text, including the line height, spacing, etc. You can condense things pretty well, if desired.

Thanks for the help. Maybe I could compress the fonts and layout a bit. I will look at the "page break" syntax. The "START" and "STOP" are calculated before the JavaScript filter, so that won't work for this.

    Thanks!

    Pretty cool sheet!
I would probably look at condensing the main text if possible. Really, with a control sheet going to 2 pages, you are probably better off having the first be a regular combat record (the one you made) and then a generic-o second sheet with the grid of minions. It would be great with formatting and font to get combat info to 1/2 a sheet and the record list on the other half. Also, like the other sheet, missing SPD....
