Adding STR to HA/HKA w/ Affects Physical World Advantage

Normally, a Desolid character has to buy the Affects Physical World Advantage on his STR if he wishes to exert STR on solid targets while Desolid. However, if a character has an HKA or HA with an Advantage, the character's STR is normally treated as having the same Advantage. Do the rules apply differently to this specific Advantage - i.e., if a Desolid character had a weapon (HA or HKA) bought Affects Physical World, would that character be able to add damage from STR or Martial Maneuvers to the weapon regardless of whether his STR had the Affects Physical World Advantage?

I’m not sure whether I’d agree with your “normally” statement as a blanket statement of how things work — but regardless, the rules for this are on 5E 272, and they apply to APW the same as they do to other Advantages.
