    Captain Chronos
    Dr. Silverback
    Shugoshin
Robert Caliburn (see VB, when it's out)
    The Slug
    Utility
    Ankylosaur
    Cateran
    Black Paladin
    Mechassassin
You could be in luck Steve. Prod., RM and I have posted some good recipies for Ankylosaur, Utility and an idea or two for Dr. Silverback already (different thread). Come to think of it, I just now got an idea for the Slug too (Woohoo!). We'll see if one or more of these end up making a showing in the end.

Re: The First (Hopefully) Semi-Annual Great Champions Challenge Modding Contest!

Small clarification since someone PMed me. I am not entering a figure into the contest. While it is allowed on HC Realms due to the structure of the voting, I've never felt comfortable running a coontest that I have a "stake" in. Even though I flat out can't rig the voting thanks to it's structure, it just seems off to me to have an entry in a contest I'm sponsoring.

I will be voting as it's one of the "perks" of running this magilly. Assuming this does well enough, all past winners will be allowed to vote in future contests whether they enter a mod or not. WInner's circle rights and all that.

Anyway, just wanted to clarify a few things. Keep modding, I'm looking forward to some amazing entries!

Sorry to hear you'll be sitting out the contest Proditor, I appreciate your devotion to honesty though.

I'm also sorry that your Grond and Harbinger aren't going to be in Bill, though I do like having a chance at winning.

Does anyone have any good methods for removing paint from Heroclix. I've tried everything I can think of and it doesn't get the paint off. I could probably get it off if I sacrificed the figure's fine details, but I'd rather not.

I used to use Pine-Sol, but I've switched over to brake fluid (available at Walmart or any auto parts store). Both work about equally well, but the brake fluid is less likely to melt the plastic.

Pour about an inch of brake fluid or Pine-sol into a glass container. Soak the figure in the brake fluid for about a half hour (no longer! -- brake fluid isn't supposed to melt plastic, but why take chances?). Take an old stiff-bristle toothbrush and some liquid dish soap and scrub it under warm water. Rinse and repeat if necessary.

Let your figure sit for at least 24 hours after you've removed the paint before you prime him.

Pine Sol and dish soap didn't work at all for me. I'll try the break fluid though, thanks.

I'm probably stating the obvious, but keep in mind that many HeroClix figs are cast in colored plastic -- Hulk is made from green plastic, Spidey from red, and so forth... so you'll never get the color off of them!

You know what, I did not know that. So it wasn't obvious to me! Thanks for clueing me in. One of the figures I had the most trouble with was She-Hulk, is she cast in green? But all the figures gave me trouble so it wasn't only that.

Acetone looks good, might try that too. Thanks everyone. Have my measley rep.

    Hurm...

I just realized that the board poll voting may not go the way I envisioned. From what I can see, I can make the vote public or private, but the one bit I can't hide are the current standings. My preference would be to hide those until the voting is over and then show them at the end. No chance of anyone caring about the standings until it's all done that way. Since I'm pretty sure I can't do that (And I should have checked it earlier) I'm leaning heavily to public voting as a self checking system. Thoughts?

I would be okay, and I think others would, if you just privately collected the votes and gave the result at the end. If, by some odd chance, anyone challenged the results you'd have the record and could disclose.

I'm cool with you collecting them privately. You've allready waived yourself from the competition so why not?

Re: The First (Hopefully) Semi-Annual Great Champions Challenge Modding Contest!

Well, I'd collect the modding votes privately, via PM. It was the general one I wanted to do as a poll. Everyone would just vote for what they liked. But, I wanted the results to be hidden until the end when it would reveal. Maybe it's okay to just have a public vote on it? There is a small chance of some jerrymandering, but not enough to worry about I think since the entire board vote only has the same "oomph" as one artist's vote and is really only final arbiter on the Honorable mention category. I'll mull it a little more and I seriously appreciate the trust you guys have in me to just collect all the votes.

Just a friendly reminder that we are at the half way point for entries. Ya'll have a little over 2 weeks to go, so get to it so I can see some mods to envy.

    Here is my entry.

Gargoyle, by original Champions artist and member of the very first Champs campaign, Mark Williams.

Note, this is the Champions 2nd and third edition version as Mark Williams drew him not the modified design from the comic.

The main body is from a Marvel, Infinity Challenge Constrictor:

The Head is a modified Skrull Agent from the same set, and the horns were the finger claws of a Marvel Morlock.
