Throwing someone and holding followup x3

Hi Steve. I followed the thread about throwing someone and holding closely as it pertains to a question that we have in our campaign as well.

I have a specific followup question regarding the joint lock/throw maneuver. It says "Grab One Limb, Target Falls". My assumption was that this was an Akido-style maneuver, where you put a painful grip on the opponent and throw them to the ground (still holding on to the limb). Is this not the case? Could you describe what effect this maneuver would have in more detail?

Big fan of the game, playing since the 80's. Thanks!!

You've got it exactly right from my way of thinking of it. In this case the attacker isn't ever attempting to throw for any distance -- he's just bearing the target to the ground. Since the maneuver does NND damage, the Throw aspect isn't involved in doing damage; it's just going to inconvenience the target by making him prone, possibly changing his order of initiative vis-a-vis the person Grabbing him, and so on.
