Re: Santa Monica, CA looking for HEROes

I'm currently running a Fantasy HERO campaign but with the recent situation of not enough Players (two were dropped out due to the fact that they could not get into HERO - D&D fanatics!) we have had to put it on hold. As a group we are open to playing anything (Fantasy, Western, Champions, Star, Cyber, etc) HERO.
We try to get together once a week (usually at my place in Santa Monica) and would classify as a 70% action/30% non-action type of group. Most sessions have combat (or at least the possibility) but there is much emphasis on roleplaying and playing in character too.
All three of us are capable of GMing and the idea of "switching-off" Campaigns is most appealing. That way those of us that GM can also have an opportunity to Play as well.

Re: Santa Monica, CA looking for HEROes

Thanks for the invite. How large is the group currently? What style of a Champions campaign is it (Standard Comic Book, Gritty Graphic Novel, etc)?
Ideally we will be able to uncover enough Players in the area (Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, Culver City, West L.A.) but the idea of joining a larger group is intriguing.
As far as gamedays go we are currently very flexible. We try to play on a week night (6-10 PM) at least once a week. Saturday nights are kinda hit and miss.

Could you possibly email me some campaign info? Would we (myself + 2) be intergrated into the larger established Supers group or would it be more like a superhero team-up (the Avengers and Batman & Robin.....& Nightwing?!?)?

Good bunch of RPGers in Oni's group, if anyone's lookin' for a reference...

We've lived in different parts of the country for a lot of years now, but these guys were my high school buddies. Had a lot of awesome games with storylines that still inspire plots I run now (like 15 years later...gettin' old).

Have fun, guys...wish I could be there.

    Sadly, no...

Apparently, you could count the number of HERO gamers on this island on one hand. Our current PC group has 15 characters that have accumulated over the years. I like to keep them in the continuity, so our three players end up with a small cast of characters each that they'll alternate between as the story dictates. It'd be nice to add a couple of new players to the game.

I think I showed you the pics for our game a while back, but if you're interested, the images for a lot of the heroes and villains and write-ups for the PCs are posted on this thread: http://www.herogames.com/forums/show...7&page=1&pp=15

Things are looking up. Two possible stalwart players have joined up but there is still room for more.
