I noticed that the original link I posted to Aaron Allston's website with those conversions no longer functioned. According to AA's homepage, he removed some of the website pages that were less frequently visited.Originally Posted by Major Tom
However, the writeups still exist in the old Red October BBS archives on Shelley Chrystal Mactyre's website, as a ZIPped text file, virtually identical to the one on AA's site. I've updated the link in my initial post to take you to where you can download it.![]()

Thanks for that very useful tip, LL. I now have my own electronic copy of the
file on my machine.
Now if I can just get this lousy printer to work so I can have a hardcopy of it
as well...
As far as an RPG setting that I'd like to convert to the HERO System goes, the
one that I'm trying to work on is The Morrow Project; I've had to put it on hold
until I can get a hold of the 4th Edition rules, which are supposed to be coming
out this winter (I particularly want to see how the MP timeline has been revised,
not to mention seeing what post-1985 hardware has made it into the new edition.

Chronic Beater of Dead Horses (not!)
I'm awaiting the same just to see what may b new. Though 'realistic' rules obsessed TMP fans might find this heresy, HERO is far better suited to be the engine for TMP games, which can really widely vary in the various nasties encountered (realistic, magic, psionics, aliens, I've had all of them).

As a few more items have made their way onto my list, I thought it was time I officially noted them:
I've added a discussion-board thread with more writeups of published Villains and Vigilantes characters, in both HTML and Hero Designer format, to the V&V section.
I've linked to a thread for Warhammer 40,000 that expands on the abilities which can be engineered into Space Marines, and another with writeups for Tyrannids.
I've also added a section on Rolemaster/ Spacemaster, with a link to Hierax's character stat conversions. (Thanks to TheQuestionMan for bringing that to my attention.)![]()
I just came across a website devoted to the Buffy and Angel TV series which includes quite a few HERO writeups for regular and guest characters, as well as a few converted spells and Slayer, Vampire and Vengeance Demon Package Deals. It's linked to under the "Buffy etc." entry on the list.
EDIT: To be more precise, I've added the link to the alphabetic listing for the BUFFY/ ANGEL RPGs on the main list in my first post of this thread.

Lordy, Lord!
Man that Gamma World stuff is worth the price of admission by itself. I was thinking about doing something similar myself, but dang if somebody else didn't already do the doin' what needed to get done.
Love & Kisses,
CorPse
I'm really glad you can use Ron Miller's excellent "Gamma HERO" efforts, CorPse. Responses like yours are why I started this compilation in the first place.
Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. (Actually I usually feel that way thanks to copious body hair.)
I've been adding various links to the list in my first post for awhile - not new topics, but expansions of old ones. They've really added up by now, so I thought it was high time I summarized them for interested parties.
There are new links for Aberrant (how to handle Taint), D&D (numerous new monster writeups), RIFTS (VERY substantial), Robotech, Traveller (more areas covered plus detailed conversion guidelines), and the WoD (multiple sources for updates to Vampire: the Masquerade), and an additional major source for Published Comic-Book Characters.

After further examination of my discovery of a major source of conversion writeups (which was included in my previous update), I've decided to create a new category in my list on the first post of this thread: "Published Race Package Deals." This leads to a page of links to very good 5E packages for published races and creatures from Dungeons and Dragons, Gamma World, GURPS Aliens, and RIFTS (plus a few incidentals). The list entries for all these games have been revised to include a direction to that category.
"Published Race Package Deals" is near the bottom of my list - no value judgement, it just seemed to fit there.Note that the links on that webpage are occasionally cranky, and may take you to the author's homepage instead. Just go back and try the link again.
My thanks to Mathew Ignash for these extensive and excellent conversions.![]()

Man, it's tough to keep up with all you creative types.
I've added links to the File Sharing page of badger3k's fine new website to my list entries for Dungeons & Dragons and Rolemaster.
I've added a new entry for Torg with the link to the discussion board thread describing how to adapt the conventions and mechanics of that game to HERO.
I've also added "Highlander HERO," with links to tkdguy's excellent work (with significant contributions by others here). Until now I've been confining my conversions to published RPGs (personal choice to keep the compilation focussed); but the Highlander world is a popular setting, and I've seen several fan-created RPGs for it on the Internet, some of them quite good. And tkdguy really did a nice job with this.![]()
Not a lot dramatic to announce this time. Mostly what I've done is tidy up the organization and descriptions of the various links, to make them easier to follow and clarify what each leads to.
badger3k has changed his website (which I mentioned in my previous post), so I've adjusted the D&D and Rolemaster listings accordingly. Also, the creator of the Adventure! campaign conversion website recently updated his site - it's worth looking at.
I have added Eosin's thoughtful and detailed Force writeup to the Star Wars listing. I've also added a link to notes on converting Palladium vehicles to the RIFTS section.
I've added a link to another "Harn HERO" website to the Harn listing, with a number of NPCs plus a selection of Harnic creatures, fully statted (in 4E HERO).
The Lord of the Rings listing now includes links to a couple of 5E examples: a writeup for Boromir, and an interpretation of an "average" Ent.
Another "Sengoku HERO" campaign based on Mark "Markdoc" Doherty's excellent worldbook, has provided a large number of characters for the setting. The link is under the Sengoku listing.
I've also linked a detailed writeup for the Myrrdraal to the listing for the Wheel of Time.

Besides adding an alternate source of conversion data for the First Edition of Marvel Super Heroes RPG to that listing, there's a new entry on the list: Prime Directive/ Star Fleet Battles, with character conversions from the First Edition of PD, plus guidelines and examples for gaming in the Star Fleet Universe.
My thanks to John Desmarais for pointing me to the PD HERO website.![]()
