Where can I DL a Hero Systems V4 Character sheet?
Thanks
Huh. I think they used to have them under the "Free Stuff" section. I don't know that it matters, though. I don't think anything has changed (I mean nothing that goes directly on the character sheet).
Thank you.
BTW what is the big difference between v4 and v5? Is it worth the money to go up 1 revision?
In this section of "Free Stuff" you can download a PDF of a character sheet in the 1-page, 3-column format from 4E HERO. Even though it was meant for 5E games it should suit your needs quite well.
Whether it's worth it to you to upgrade to 5E will depend on your own needs and desires for HERO gaming. Quite a few folks around here still use 4E and are quite satisfied with it. IMHO the benefits are:
The new rulebook is overall more clearly laid out and better organized, including an omniscient index;
The descriptions of all elements of the game are clearer and more detailed, defining many elements that were unclear in 4E and settling many disputes of interpretation;
There are a lot more options, allowing you to easily build and do things that were difficult and/or complex under 4E;
The new book includes ease-of-use charts and summaries that are very helpful in speeding up play;
It has sample characters, genre-emulating advice, a chargen tutorial and sample of combat. Perhaps not that useful to you as a veteran, but helpful for bringing newbie players up to speed;
All the new Hero Games supplements are written to conform to 5E rules. They're not so different from 4E that you can't easily adapt material from one edition to the other (in fact the major changes are fairly few, although there are lots of minor ones), but some things may trip you up.
If you'd like to see a summary of the changes, TheEmerged has a very good one on his website, specifically here.
Thanks!
..and I loved your conversion page. It will be some wonderful reading. it is so nicely done!
