Calidore (OOC) comments on Na'yumi and Wyk making their way down the otherwise empty (and dry) sewer tunnel: "Wyk bumps into Na'Yumi and Na'Yumi says 'Was that you Wyk?' Wyk says 'No.' at which point Nay'umi says "Don't lie to me now Wyk, tell me you bumped into me. Even if you didn't bump into me, tell me you bumped into me. Ccause if you didn't, we're gonna get eaten alive, you know that, don't you?' So Wyk says, 'I bumped into you.' 'Okay,' Na'Yumi says, 'don't lie anymore.'"

I think play stopped for about 5 minutes after I rattled that off.

I've heard the original of that, but I can't remember where from.

Bill Cosby. He and Wierd Harold went to see a monster movie, and came home after dark.

Yeah, that's the one. I'm not sure what brought it on, but I spouted it off from memory, changing names on the fly. Aside from one other person, no one else at the table had the slightest idea where I was getting it from. Having everyone else break up laughing was an added bonus.

Absolute classic. I recall my best friend having a lot of Bill Cosby's monologues on tape (incuding that one), which he would play all the time when driving. Hilarious stuff.

Right, my family has the 8-track for that. We've got two Bill Cosby 8-tracks; one of them is lost, though.

For the next two years when ever someone walked by our house, my father, whether he knew him or not would say "Come over here, I want to show you my dumb kid. Now tell him how you set fire to a hundred dollar sofa and broke your father's arm in order to save us from that [giant chicken heart]."

Got a good one about that, although it's not a game quote.

I have a habit of using movie and show quotes in my conversation.

So, when my too-old-for-her-age daughter gave me an excuse for some task she'd forgotten to do, I quipped, as usual, "Riiiight. What's a cubit?"

In a deadpan voice, she replied, "A unit of measurement."

She swears she had no idea what the word truly was; she'd just guessed. It did floor me for a second or two.

My kids now complain that they instinctively respond to other people using my quotes, then have to confess they haven't seen the movies they came from. "It's just something my Dad says."

    DND v3.5 Cast of characters:
    Rowan - female human rogue.
Jorvik. - huge (well, very large for human, over 6'6" over 220lbs of muscle) male barbarian.
    Mordain - Male dwarf paladin.

Good oriented group. Quotes in no particular order and without context(mostly).

Rowan - "We're going to do the right thing. But can't we be paid? And paid well?"

Jorvik - absolutly deadpan after someone said he had the heart of a paladin. "Yes I do." two beat pause "I keep it under glass on the mantle." two beat pause. "Someday I have to give it back."

Mordain "I've never seen on orc so bored. Picking his nose while on guard duty. Even managed to keep it in his nose after we shot it dead."
"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms. . . disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. . . Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man." - Thomas Jefferson

If you can laugh at yourself, you will never cease to be amused.

I am not normal. Normal is boring.
