Rewrite your PC(s) as Iron Age Villians!

Some IA writers take silver or bronze age characters and retool them into thinly veiled parodies to be mowed down by their protagonists. Why should they have all the fun? What would the "EEEEEVIIIILLL' Iron Age versions of your PCs be like? How would they meet their grisly end?

I'll post a few of mine later.

Tao: Project Tao is an anti superhuman genetically engineered weapon system developed from material collected covertly from various powerful metahumans over the course of several years (See Project Succubus and Sweeper for further details). There is more than one Tao unit and are mass produced via confiscated force growth clone technology recovered from ruins of Gammora Island (yes, I’m stealing, sue me ). The units are anatomically female to provide an emergency production method should the main facility be destroyed as well as a means of gathering additional “source material” for the next generation TAOs. This has lead to some unfortunate incidents during the initial production run but the perpetrators have been disciplined or retired from the project (and disposed of).

How they meet their end: An ill fated assault on a group of rogue metahumans attempting a coup on the US Federal Government. No survivors. The project site is immediately abandoned and the technical staff evacuated due to imminent retaliation.

VINDICATOR -> A rogue member of the U.S. Army's ill-fated "Super Soldier" program, Vindicator became a black ops mercenary working for a secret cabal of NSA and corporate conspirators. His adaptive invulnerability and cybernetically augmented strength/reflexes made him a highly lethal adversary, given his high level of training in a variety of martial disciplines. His ultimate fate is unknown, but it is believed based on an anonymous videotape recieved by the agency that his most recent adversary (a member of a radical social-activist anti-hero group of extreme power levels) killed him outright in single combat with a solar energy blast powerful enough to decapitate him instantly (hence his inability to adapt and become resistant to the attack form).

THE SINGULARITY -> Dr. David Somner became the arch-villain known as the Singularity through manipulation of a distant stellar mass during unsanctioned experimentation on human subjects. His subjects failed to survive the experimentation, but the peripheral energies granted Dr. Somner amazing abilities to manipulate mass and gravity. He immediately developed a megalomaniacal "god-complex" and commenced to begin his ill-fated attempt to conquer the planet. The paranormal hero known as "Psiren" killed Dr. Somner with her mind-control, by causing his mass/gravity-manipulating powers to become unstable... resulting in his instantaneous implosion into a speck of super-compressed matter.

Um, the PC's in my campaign ARE villains, and are relatively Iron Age. Does that mean I need to write them up as Silver Age Heroes ?

Anthem comes to realize that the only way she'll ever be rid of the evils of the world is to use what they have. To that end she begins to confiscate equipment from those she defeats. Unfortunately, one such piece of equipment was the Emerald Eye of Azog, whose evil influence corrupted her. Now with an arsenal of equipment at hand, she commits all sorts of crimes to assist her "secret masters", often in the guise of the villains whose equipment she has stolen.

Uncle Slam changed somewhere in Vietnam. His last black op was particularly brutal and ugly. With its competion he vanished, taking the entire detachment of heroes with him. After a few years of total silence, the Liberators surfaced, and began to oppose military actions throughout the world, regardless of the instigator. They would show up and settle things with brutal force.

Audra Blue continued the replacement work on her cybernetics that an evil scientist had once begun. But with this her humanity began to slowly dissolve. Suddenly, those lists of "Darwin Award" candidates that are passed around the internet begin to grow. People are dying in the strangest ways from their own stupidity. Everywhere that a human does something stupid and there is a way for her to eliminate them, she does. Her digital omnipresence allows her to wittle down the unimportant and useless human beings through their tendancy to put themselves in danger. Arms are cut off when crooks reach up into vending machines; People who run red lights are struck by falling space debris; the odds of dying from dumb things skyrockets, but commond denominator is that all results are tied to technology is some way.

Irving: The Fair One (for that is what his name means in the old tongue [Celtic]) was somehow brought awake, in a strange body, in a land where the magic was dying and the respect for his people gone-- they were dismissed as legends or trivialized as flitting imps decorating the franchise-sold clothing of silly children. The Sidhe may have been driven into hiding, but the Lion of Dana will bring the fight to those who hide behind the soft and bleating Lamb of Yahweh.

I suspect with Irving the end will not be death per se, but banishment or exorcism.

ETA: You'll have to decide if churches are respected institutions or not in an Iron Age world. If they are, he will probably seek to remove/desecrate them, especially if they are on ground once beloved of the fae folk. If they are corrupt, like many powerful institutions seem to be in the Iron Age, he may have a demented agent or two working havoc from within (think of the crazed verger in Rawhead Rex, though without the stink of urine).

Legend - A lunatic Alien raised by child molesting religious fanatics in Iowa, then passed into the care of crazed white-supremacist Christian Militiamen (also child molesters; it's the Iron Age) in his early teens, Jack Westlake is convinced that he's the Son of G_d, and sets out to spread His Holy Word through mass murder. "Dies" blown to pieces by an anti-tank rocket. The bloody ever-regenerating chunks of his body are then passed around among his followers to be used as sex toys and as a food source. "We Eat of His Body! We Drink of His Blood!" Naturally, his nerve endings are completely active during all of this, and his followers are horribly mutated by their new diet. The Word continues to be spread by an army of serial child-rapist necrophiliac cannibals.

And, since this is the Iron Age, his followers are the good guys. The bad guys are even worse.

Weep Re: Rewrite your PC(s) as Iron Age Villians!

Rock Bottom: Same origin, uses his newfound strength and weight to crush homophobes. Dies when his vendetta takes him to Washington DC and he's reduced to pebbles by the Secret Service's superior weaponry.

Kira Midori: Advance agent for a militant future that has decided to alter history in its favor, making psionic humans the only strain left. Is gutted when her precognition sees one less step ahead than the martial artist's battle computer.

Calculus: Decides that taking over the world is the only way to keep himself and his family from ever being hurt again. Is proven wrong when the world's most powerful superteam simply rams their vehicle into Chicago, taking out everyone in the vicinity.

Mask of Justice: Is already dead, his eyes used as a component in the ultimate spy satellite network.

Talion: Is hired by the evil masters of the world to help take out the world's most powerful superteam. After having several of their members taken out temporarily, they decide to launch him into the heart of the sun.

Talion's powers being what they are, this causes each member of the team to erupt with the full power of the Sun, killing every creature on Earth, and eventually turning the solar system into a new black hole with Talion eternally trapped in a living death in the singularity at the center. Meanwhile, his annoying team mates will have escaped to the alternate universe in the heart of the singularity, and Talion's agaonized consciousness will never be freed from them. Then things start to get bad.

Now that is nasty, sick, vile, and depraved.

Better make sure you get the rights for when the publishers come knocking.

    Thanks.
People complain about The Authority (which does suck post-Ellis), but compared to seriously Rusty Iron (Marshal Law, Brat Pack, Maximortal) it's not that bad.

Re: Rewrite your PC(s) as Iron Age Villians!

Stalker lost it once too often when "innocents were harmed/engdangered" and beat the Dupe of the Demonologist to a dead, bloody, pulp. On television. When his friends and teammates tried to arrest him, he snapped completely. Hunted by his former FBI co-horts, as well as his team mates on the Seattle Sentinels, he went truly into the shadows. Now, instead of simply trying to put a stop to violent gangs, etc, he patrols the streets, beating criminals to death, as well as anyone who endangers the population. The number of CEOs who died brutal deaths was appalling, the boards of trustees of the Tobacco companies were wiped out. One of the most potent martial artists in the world, with the ability to teleport from shadow to shadow, he was difficult to catch. Finally, he was caught by his old team, who locked him up in the Vault.

Under intensive Psycho-analysis, assisted by Telepathic therapy, it was discovered that he wasn't even the man he thought he was, but a creation of the Mind Master Complex as an experiment.

"Cured" he sits in his solitary cell, continuously lit from all directions, and weeps.

His sentence was 50 life sentences, and as his "shadow" abilities are rather odd, he may actually live to serve them.

He has attempted suicide multiple times, but they keep-on-saving-him...
    "That was good, Daddy"
