The Champions of the Empire, Black Moon campaign has openings for two players. The Champions of the Empire campaign universe has been around for two years and the Black Moon campaign was the original campaign (we've since expanded to two campaigns). The campaign is set in the Traveller universe but the characters are (mostly) mutants who are designed as Champions characters.
Characters are built on 200 points, plus up to 70 in disads (although a limited subset of disads is allowed), plus 40 experience points to get you close to the levels of the existing characters. Experience points are somewhat generous for this campaign with highly active players earning up to 5 exp per month.
----------
The original members of the team met in prison several years ago and managed to escape. After escaping, they were approached by the Imperial Investigative Service (IIS) with an offer they couldn't refuse. In return for completing a specific mission for the IIS, the IIS would clear their records so that they would not be wanted fugitives. The group agreed and began a long mission into the Zhodani Consulate. Now, several months later, the team is ready to complete the final phase of the mission, the rescue of an imperial professor and his wife from a zho prison planet deep in Zhodani space. It is a prison without walls where prisoners are dumped and left to fend for themselves with no hope of parole and no hope of every joining civilized society again.

That is a very short summary of where the team is currently at. To read more indepth information about the adventure, visit the website and read the last few public turns in the Black Moon campaign. Once you have a character concept worked up, we can discuss how best to introduce your character, which may entail backing things up.
----------
Here is the current makeup of the group:
Jack - a brick with very strong interpersonal skills. He serves as the public leader of the team whenever they interact with others and the team needs a spokesperson. He anchors the team and holds it together, settling disputes and calming tempers. He is also the backup starship pilot for the team.
Surge - an electricity-based beamer with very strong engineering skills including electronics, mechanics and inventor. He is the primary astrogator for the team and the backup starship engineer. He also has some computer and radio-based powers and skills including a virtual duplicate that he can desposit into a computer network. He is, far and away, the most intelligent person on the team.
Midnight - the only truely obvious mutant on the team with jet black skin and a hairless body. He is a gravity and lights explosive beamer (most of his powers have explosion effects). He is the primary gunnery officer for the team and knows how to operate just about any type of heavy weapon.
Mek - a flying, shrinking scout with dimensional powers and an active Gamma Company, Imperial soldier on loan to the IIS for this mission. He is the newest member of the team but his scouting abilities promise to be a huge asset in the coming mission.
Vamperina - a martial artist and former commander in the Imperial Fleet. She is the primary starship pilot for the team and backup astrogator. She can also serve as backup gunnery officer. She can operate just about any type of vehicle extremely well and also has the unique ability to be able to understand and speak just about any language.

What the team needs
An absolute MUST is a mentalist. The team is venturing (has ventured?) deep into Zhodani space and there is little chance of them succeeding in their mission without a mentalist to warn them of Zhodani mental security measures.
The team does not have a shape changer and though this is not an absolute must in the same sense as a mentalist, it is a suggestion in case you have a concept around a shape shifter.
The team could definitely use a primary engineer. Surge is very good with Engineering skills but when the situation gets tough, he can't handle both Engineering and Astrogation simultaneously so it would be ideal if one of the players coming in had Starship Engineering skill (see the Skills section, under Rules, on the website for prerequisites to buying Starship Engineering skill).
The team could also use another gunner. There are two characters on the team with gunnery skill, but one is the primary pilot. The ship you will be on has two weapons so could use a second, dedicated gunner (in addition to Midnight).
----------
The game is a mix of Champions and Star Hero set in the Traveller universe. Characters are built like Champions characters on 200 points, plus up to 70 points in disadvantages, plus 40 experience points. If you are interested, please visit the website and read the Character Generation Rules for more infomation on building your character. You should also persuse some of the house rules. The campaign started as a 4th ed. campaign and when we switched to 5th ed. we kept some of the rules that had already been discussed. If you want to play a mentalist you should definitely read the section on Mind Scan.
If you are interested in playing, please contact me with you concept.
Cheers
Steve
