Is it possible to set it up so that the Playtest Message Board doesn't show on the list if you don't have access to it? That will probably cut down on a lot of "I can't get there!" questions. (Alternatively, maybe a custom error message would point people at the right info.)
It seems you should be able to give it the same settings as the "Destroyer World Domination Plans" board, which--hey! ouch! stopdkfjs;'lkjgaksdmfakmew;fdasefasef

It's possible, but that's exactly what I don't want to do. I want people to know there's playtesting going on. That way they inquire about getting involved, and hopefully subscribe to DH and get involved.
It's a "Hey, see all the neat stuff going on!" marketing strategy.
