    Question Cheat Sheet Tab?? Poll.

Here's a question and an idea. One thing that my gaming group has been doing for years is creating cheat sheets for combat. These sheet automatically figure Columns for Max OCV/Min DCV and Min OCV/Max DCV for martial maneuvers. Also DC are printed with weaponry used with Maneuvers along with H-T-H and Standard Ranged to help in figuring out Strength and Weapon DC Mods. My thoughts are that I would greatly love a tab that allows me to view these figure as I'm creating so I can "One stop Shop" my power, damage, and defense level. Then when I print, This can print off on its own page so I have it ready when combat calls....

So what does everyone think? Sound like something the guys should try to incorporate? Hero Guys, can this be worked in?

While the idea is good. It's not going to happen. Dan is pretty adamant about what HD has and is going to have and it is very much by the book.
This is probably something that you would have to create in an Export Template to get what you want. Interestingly enough this is going to be true even if it was added as a tab. You don't print straight out of HD like you would say in Word. You have to export the character first and then print from that medium.
The other issue that you will run into will be the various tags you would have to have in the Character Template to begin with, and there in is the problem.

I for one would be interested in the sheet you are using however. Do you have that in electronic form that you could send to me or post?

    Sure thing...

I'll get the sheet out tomorrow sometime and clean it off and out it up. I'll put the link back here. Any specification on Format that youd like? Word, Acrobat, ect?

I've find that it is very useful. It makes combat go much, much faster. Most of the time we all put our levels in mainly Offense or Defense....rarely do we split it 2 to 1, ect. This way players have it infront of them and dont have to figure it up for their attacks...plus when they get attacked, all they have to do is look on the sheet, remember the maneuver, and remember if they went Offensive or Defensive, and have that DCV ready for me to crush...wait, uh, make that swing at

This appears to be what you were talking about: (I edited the extra lines)

    Character: Player :
HTH Maneuver :Max OCVMin DCV Min OCVMax OCVDC/Damage
HTH Weap. Man. :Max OCVMin DCVMinOCVMax OCVDC/Damage
Ranged Attacks : Max OCVMin DCV Min OCVMax OCVDC/Damage

I'm assuming that is a typo on the second group? It should be Min OCV Max "D"CV right? Also, there isn't any auto-calculations correct? That is what you would want HD to create for you?

Yeah thats a typo.... Min OCV Max DCV is right....
In this sheet there isnt any auto calculations....we had been using XML for character creation and had a version that printed off a sheet.....This is a older version of the sheet. We figured it out once and had it for the character for every game as a "quick reference."

Yes this is ideally what I'd like to see HD do....

This helps in character designing as you can easily see what you will be throwing around (after all, combat is a very important part of the majority of games)....

It's easy to see that a Offensive Strike does X damage...but what if I buy a Weapon Element...what does that DC add to my Strength and MArtial Dc...whats my final Damage with the weapon????

As for the OCV DCV stuff, that self explanitory...

GM to himself: "I wish my 6 players would get their tales together and have their OCV and DCV's ready without 30 seconds of figuring!!!"

Player : "Man!! Having my OCV's and DCV's ready before combat sure does speed things up! There's less math for me to figure out on the fly and record keeping just got easier! Maybe we can get in more role playing tonight....even an extra combat!"

We've all found this to be very beneficiary...in fact, as people arrive for the game, 1 or 2 will seem to forget their cheat sheet, and you can see them ripping out some paper and figuring it out on scratch sheets prior to the game starting.

I see this as being as benefitial as a Combat, Speed, and DEX chart for a GM.... Except the players get benefit out of this one also.

Do you have an example character with a completed Cheat Sheet as well?
Dan is very open to creating new export tags if requested. There is a good possibility however that all the tags are there that we would need to work up an export template for this ourselves. If I could see the end result of a character and the associated cheat sheet I might be able to something up.
Preferrably I would like to see a character that had an entry in each of the areas of the cheat sheet.

Ye who have asked shall now recieve.....

Chaosliege : Here be your PDF version...didnt change over very well, as I said before the origional sheet was a XML version we were using, but you will get the idea and can form your own if we cant get them to put this in HD! !!Hint, Hint!!

    PDF Cheet Sheet :
    http://webpages.charter.net/shawnawa...et%20Sheet.pdf

Durnin : Here are 2 files, the 1st is the current HD export into HTML...the second is a quick type up in the Excel version for the Cheet Sheet...hope this solidifies the idea. This character was probably the easiest I could use to show what I'm looking for with the OCV/DCV/and Damage (since he uses Martial Maneuvers with Killing weapons)....

    Character :

    Cheet Sheet :
    http://webpages.charter.net/shawnawa...et%20Sheet.htm

GOD help me I'm a freakin Moron!!! I just realized I've been spelling Cheat "CHEET"....you people are ALL laughing at me aren't you!!!

Oh well, I'll suffer if we can get it incorporated!!! After all, I've got 12 out of 15 votes for it to be included...never mind the 200 views to the post and those that have failed to vote. SHAME ON YOU ALL!!!!

I wasn't able to get to your character... the page isn't available. Could you post it here in the forum? Use the Hero Boards Export template, it works great!
