We have a couple of players in my gaming group who just can't stand the Hero System, so I'm switching my campaign over to D20 Modern. I'm looking for some web resources for D20 Modern, maybe even a message board.
TIA,

Time to move to San Francisco, where Hero System is King!Originally Posted by Mike Basinger

I assume you've checked WOTC's d20 Modern website, right? They've got a few pretty good adventures for download, along with a few more passable ones.

And peep at Spycraft while you're at it. It feels more direct than Modern--you've got better classes that you can work with. After all, you're not actually limited to spy games--that's just the default setting.![]()
<The Rose> I also have the PS: Human.
<Lethosos> We all do; it's just some that have a low PS level.

This site is quite good. I think is run by some of d20 Modern creators (who now runs his own company):

Depending on what type of game you run you might want to have a look at Holistic Designs stuff.

If you are into military or kind of violent espionage their d20 Somalia, Afghanistan and Columbia are well done. I got them for the source material but they include new rules for d20 that you might find helpful to de-d20fy d20 modern, as well as more "classes" and abilities. I see they have added an FBI book too.
I was looking at the d20 thing for awhile since I don't have the best luck getting people into HERO, I found I liked T20 Traveller better, Spycraft is also worth a look, I found d20 Modern to be kind of bland, Spycraft was more interesting and T20 took the basic system and tweaked it to be more acceptable to the "I hate Classes" gamers.
Pinnacles Weird War supplements are also very good, either for a straight up WW2 game or for the supernatural.
Sorry I don't nkow of any web based stuff since I'm not using d20 but even though the system is a bit funky there is lots of good material for it out there.
There were frogs there all right, thousands of them. Their voices beat the night, they boomed and barked and croaked and rattled. They sang to the stars, to the waning moon, to the waving grasses. They bellowed love songs and challenges.

I recommend, when researching a system - posting enquiries in forums FOR THAT SYSTEM.
Oh, and while people are here - Where can I find some good Tunnels and Trolls sites?
;-p
Shh, don't shatter the poor persons delusions - it's a system defended with a religious fervour, in the face of any facts. ODIN!

I highly recommend Spycraft 2.0. It does d20 Modern better than d20 Modern.
My players didn't really take to HERO either, so for their sake, I use the d20 based Mutants and Masterminds as my main ruleset, but I still get a lot of use out of all my HERO sourcebooks and supplements.
These guys must be "pros". I've found people who won't play with a certain set of rules aren't very good players because they are too busy trying to decode the "intricacies" of the rules and they are damned hard to please overall. The GM's doing most of the work and the GM ought to decide the system. I would really consider how much you want to bow and scrape to the people who are doing less than 5% of the prep for each gaming session. A player does not need to know the rules much less certify them Class "A" or somesuch.Originally Posted by Mike Basinger
