"King Arthur and the Mud Monsters from Tralaxis VIII...

"King Arthur and the Mud Monsters from Tralaxis VIII.
    AKA Camelot IN SPAAAAAAAAAACE!
    (Hero System, AKA Champions)

With Earth being invaded from Outer Space, it seems England (along with, incidently, the rest of the world), is in it's greatest danger. And, as prophesied, King Arthur will return...

Players play normal people who turn out to be the reincarnations of Arthur and his Knights. Somewhat inherently cheesy, but not a satire or comedy game."

    That's the summary.
I'm planning on running this at a local multi-gaming event.

I'm doing it as a Champions type game. Each of the Knights will have a unique power of some kind (Arthur get's Excalibur and Sheath, for example).

    Plot outline:

-Narration into the world. (Explain about the Aliens)
-A brief 'normals versus unstoppable aliens, FLEE!' skirmish where Our Heroes run for their lives and escape the unstoppable aliens.
-They find themselves in some caves, uncover the wreckage of the ruins of Camelot and their old bodies... and weapons.
-Mysterious Sorceress awakens them, gives them their powers.
-They break the main alien encampment, and hopefully...
-Steal a Ship, and assault the Alien space ship, forcing it to flee.

Other notes... the Aliens are passing for undefeated because they've developed a force field technology. Ranged projectiles and anything else fast moving bounce off, the faster moving the furthur away they bounce. Once you get within the field this doesn't apply - sadly, if you're that close, they bring the rest of their military progress to bear...

(...I really want melee combats, and I want to get rid of the military kerfluffle - missiles and guns are only useful because it stops them from dropping the shields... of course, that's pretty useful)

    Thoughts?

Maybe I should have done a poll.

Sounds cool. What kind of powers are you thinking for the other knights? Will this be more of a superheroic endeavor? I suspect so since it's in the Champions forum.

That sounds a lot like the Camelot 3000 series back in the 80s.

I agree. The sorceress might be The Lady of the Lake.

That was who I was aiming for, yes...

Never heard of Camelot 3000. Now that I have, don't care.

Yes, Superheroic. I'm having some trouble with Knight powers, actually.

    Two definates:

One superstrong knight (I have a name written down somewhere)
Gawain has solar powered might. (Which will include, in my writeup, a "HFS, you just left the atmosphere..." power setting).

(As well as Arthur with the invulnerability/Sword of Super Cuttingness)

Probably going to include Lancelot as the best warrior.

Probably need one or two more options.

Seriously, you should check out Camelot 3000, as it has a lot of interesting character development, especially Sir Tristram.

Here's a Wikipedia entry. It doesn't have much info, but it links to other sites.

And a minor quibble. Modred is not Margan La Fay's son in the comic. I remember him addressing her as "Auntie."

    Well, looks interesting.

The external links, however, are dead.

Don't entirely denounce Camelot 3000, it is a pretty good read.

I'm kicking myself, I saw a graphic novel of Camelot 3000 once, but didn't pick it up. And I've never seen it since.

The best way to define the knights' powers is to read a synopsis of the Arthurian tales and take each knight's main strength.
