    Background & History

It all started with a strange egg found in the New York harbor. The egg was brought to the New York Aquarium for study, where it hatched into a strange creature with four limbs and a tail. A young married couple, Charles and Linda Connor, were the primary researchers.

One night, when Linda had stayed late to finish some paperwork, she heard a splash and a thud from the specimen tank. Somehow, the newborn had climbed out and fallen to the floor, where it was spitting up water. Linda rushed to return it to the tank, but before she could, the creature coughed the last of the water out of its respiratory system, took a shuddering breath, and began to cry. Linda's maternal instincts kicked in, and she held the newborn close, and rocked it in her arms. Eventually, the baby (she could no longer think of it as an animal) fell asleep.

The Connors took special care in raising the foundling, which they named Lindsay. While she was the object of much study, she also received attention, education, and love. Eventually, they adopted her, raising her as one of their own children.

Lindsay went to a public school, because her adoptive parents realized that socialization would be important for her. She also spent a lot of time at the aquarium, helping out in the lab and playing with the sea life in the tanks.

Lindsay's natural advantages and lifelong immersion have led her to pursue a career in marine biology herself, following in her parent's footsteps.

    Personality and Motivation

Lindsay is naturally inclined somewhat to solitary reflection, but makes an effort to be friendly and "cute", so as to defuse people's suspicions about her strange appearance and abilities. Perhaps her most powerful motivation comes from her actue awareness of how different she is from those around her. She knows that with her strength, toughness, and mobility, she'd be more than a match for most humans, but she tries to avoid conflict due to a fear of the rejection and hatred that she would earn if she acted like the monster she looks like. Lindsay's greatest desire is to find a sense of acceptance and belonging in the world.

    Powers and Tactics

Lindsay is very strong and very tough. She's also much faster than a human, and doesn't slow down a bit when she gets in the water. In fact, she's completely amphibious, capable of breathing both fresh and salt water as comfortably as air, and of withstanding the intense pressure and cold of the deep sea. She can find her way in the lightless depths with an organic active sonar, which she can also use in air. She also has a gecko-like ability to cling to walls and ceilings. Even more bizzarely, she can project a destructive beam of energy from her mouth (instantly dubbed "atomic breath" by those who witnessed it).

Lindsay tends to take what would be unnecessary risks for humans, counting on her toughness and regenerative abilities to keep her out of trouble. However, she has almost no combat experience, and isn't inclined to risk herself against meta-human or ultra-tech threats. After all, she doesn't know for sure HOW tough she is.

    Appearance

Lindsay looks like an attractive human girl of about 19 years, except for her green skin and tail. She has black hair, which she wears short, and blue eyes. She prefers to wear clothes that she could swim in easily, should the need arise, and usually wears a swimsuit under her clothes. Sometimes she wears glasses, on the theory that they make her look less threatening.

    *gasp* It's big sis!
"Do it?" Dan, I'm not a Republic serial villain. Do you seriously think I'd explain my master-stroke if there remained the slightest chance of you affecting its outcome?

I did it thirty-five minutes ago.

Nice lower-powered super, Zeropoint, but given that she was raised by Occidental parents, I do have to question the name "Gojira-chan." It's certainly clever and appropriate, but it doesn't sound like something that a Lindsay Connor would have chosen for herself, nor something that Western media would have pinned on her. At the very least I'd expect some variation on "Godzilla."

Of course she does speak Japanese; a little rationalization as to why she learned it, and what her connection to Japanese culture is, would probably cover things nicely.

    perhaps she's an Anime fangirl.

For the record, Extra Time (6 hours) for Regen is only -2 1/2. The base value is 1 turn for -1 1/4, -1/4 per step down the time chart. This only makes a difference of 1 pt mind you...

It seems I neglected to mention that at one point, she and her parents spent several months working with a Japanese research team in an international collabaration. That's where she picked up her Japanese, and the nickname.

    And her sushi habit.
