    The 2007 Release Schedule

Villains, Vandals, And Vermin: Inject new life into your Champions campaign with new villains! This enemies book features enough new adversaries to enliven any GM’s game: the Tiger Squad, superheroes of China who may become adversaries of your PCs for political reasons; the body-warping fiend Fleshtone; the Curse, victim and carrier of an ancient Egyptian malediction; the Lemurian brick Leviathan; and dozens more.
Author: Steven S. Long, et al.
    Tentative Release Date: Early 2007

Pulp Resource Guide: The world of the 1920s and ’30s is a very distinct one from our own: different people, different vehicles, different weapons, different technology. The Pulp Resource Guide picks up where Pulp Hero left off in describing these things for your games. It provides more information and HERO System write-ups for Pulp-era cars, planes, guns, and gadgets; information on the famous Empire Club and its members; NPC heroes for your PCs to adventure with; and plenty of other resources ready for immediate use in your campaign.
    Author: Steven S. Long
    Tentative Release Date: Early 2007

Enchanted Items: Magical weapons and objects — swords that remain sharp forever or fight on their own, amulets that protect the wearer from misfortune, wands that can fire bolts of lightning or turn hapless victims into toads — are a feature of just about every Fantasy world. This Fantasy Hero supplement provides enough pre-generated enchanted items to fill a dozen dragons’ treasure-troves!
    Author: Steven S. Long
    Tentative Release Date: Early 2007

The Ultimate Energy Projector: Hero Games’s Ultimate series of books examining specific character types and subjects in detail continues with The Ultimate Energy Projector, a book about the strange and awesome energies wielded in comic books and adventure fiction and the powerful characters who wield them. It features detailed HERO System rules about how different types of energies interact and affect one another, hundreds of sample powers and abilities for energy-wielding characters, sample energy projectors from many genres, and more!
    Author: Steven S. Long
    Tentative Release Date: Early 2007

Champions Of The North: Most superheroes and villains may live and fight in the United States, but America’s neighbor to the North is no stranger to superhuman activity. Champions Of The North is your guide to the Champions Universe in Canada. Written by native Canadians and edited by Americans, it’s the perfect resource for superheroic campaigning and adventure in the Great White North!
    Author: Scott Bennie
    Tentative Release Date: Mid 2007

Danger Zones: The world of Dark Champions is a dangerous one, filled with places where strife, war, and brutality are unavoidable facts of life. Danger Zones takes you to flash points of conflict around the world — places like central Africa, the Balkans, Colombia, the Middle East, and Kashmir, where characters may find themselves plunged into the middle of battles, diplomatic negotiations, or espionage that could end a war... or start one.
Authors: Steven S. Long, Jason Walters
    Tentative Release Date: Mid 2007

Aarn: City Of Adventure: Aarn, the greatest city of the Turakian Age, is a place of wonder, mystery, danger, and intrigue. Aarn: City Of Adventure is your complete guide to this Fantasy metropolis, from the tops of the glittering spires of the Noble’s District to the dirty, dangerous alleys around Saffron Moon Square. Get involved in the Thieves’ War between competing guilds of robbers, hoist a mug of ale with wastrel Prince Balgar at the Patient Manticore Tavern, research the secrets of the arcane at the Mages’ Guild, or fight the outlaws and reavers of the Bandit Lands!
    Author: Steven S. Long
    Tentative Release Date: Mid 2007

Post-Apocalyptic Hero: After society collapses, can your heroes survive, perhaps even thrive, in a harsh, dangerous, and unforgiving primitive world? Post-Apocalyptic Hero is your complete guide to characters and campaigns in the “post-apocalyptic” genre, where they have to cope with the fall of civilization, explore the ruins of the ancients who brought about the collapse, and perhaps even create a brave new world in which civilization can arise once more. Whether your taste in apocalypses runs to mutant-spawning nuclear war, world-shattering astronomical disasters, zombie-creating super-plagues, or civilization-destroying energy crises, Post-Apocalyptic Hero shows you how to create characters and campaigns for the genre using the HERO System.
    Author: Steven S. Long
    Tentative Release Date: Mid 2007

Lucha Libre Hero: Hero roustabouts Darren Watts and Jason Walters put on their magical wrestling masks, get cranked on tequila, and create for you the ultimate gaming guide to monster-hunting, gangster-fighting Mexican wrestlers in Lucha Libre Hero! Dive right into the weird, fight-filled world of Mexican wrestling adventure movies as you and your masked cohorts save the villagers from werewolves, help the police round up vicious gangsters, and then head out for a night on the town with beautiful women!
    Author: Darren Watts, Jason Walters
    Tentative Release Date: Late 2007

Lands Of Mystery: Of all the types of Pulp adventure, for many gamers the most popular is the lost world story, in which a group of bold adventurers discovers a long-forgotten or never-before-discovered land inhabited by remnants of ancient civilizations, dinosaurs, strange cultures and races, other wonders. Lands Of Mystery is your complete guide to this Pulp subgenre, complete with Package Deals for character types not covered in Pulp Hero, advice for creating and running lost worlds campaigns, and information about the themes and elements of lost worlds stories. It also includes Zorandar, a complete campaign setting where your characters may encounter a thriving outpost of the long-dead Roman Empire, dinosaurs and Neanderthal tribes that have survived to the present day, pterosaur-riding reptile-men, and other perils aplenty!
Author: Aaron Allston, Steven S. Long
    Tentative Release Date: Late 2007

Crews, Cops, And Cabals: Not every organization in the Champions Universe is as big and powerful as VIPER or DEMON... but that doesn’t mean they’re not every bit as dangerous! Crews, Cops, And Cabals provides complete information about several organizations suitable for any Champions campaign. It includes the mutant-hating Institute for Human Advancement, bounty hunters who specialize in superhuman prey, the Metahuman Activities Response Squad of the Millennium City Police Department, laboratories dedicated to studying supertechnology, and many more.
    Author: Andy Mathews, et al.
    Tentative Release Date: Late 2007

Scourges Of The Galaxy: The Galaxy is a rough place, filled with scum and villainy — in other words, just the sort of bad guys your heroes love to fight! Scourges Of The Galaxy, an enemies book for Star Hero, details these villains. Ranging from ruthless con-men on backwater worlds, to Imperial nobles hungry for ever-greater power, to alien spies, to murderous mercenaries, it’s full of characters any GM will want to use.
Authors: Jason Walters, Ben Seeman, et al.
    Tentative Release Date: Late 2007

Also if the Fiction collection from 2006 does well there will likely be another in the first quarter of 2007.

Golden Age Hero will probably out late Fall 2007. Then Darren will start on Silver Age Hero.
Live a good life. If there are gods and they are just, they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. If there are gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them. If there are no gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones. -Marcus Aurelius

On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd unfortunately give that a 5. The best item on the list (Silver Age Hero) might not be until 2008. VVV would be my #2, followed by Champions of the North. Lands of Mystery and Golden Age Hero are possibilities, but 2007 will apparently only be a '2-book' year for me.

Assuming that isn't just regurgitating the text from the old Lands of Mystery, but new stuff, that is the best news I've seen from HERO in the last couple of years. Woohhooo!!!

    Re: The 2007 Release Schedule

Here's what I'm interested in from the list:

    Villains, Vandals, And Vermin
    Pulp Resource Guide
    Enchanted Items
    The Ultimate Energy Projector
    Champions Of The North
    Post-Apocalyptic Hero
    Lucha Libre Hero
    Lands Of Mystery

I'm somewhat upset to see that PAH was picked over Cyber Hero, even though CH led the poll. Oh well.

I am also interested in GAH and SAH.

    Re: The 2007 Release Schedule

    Villains, Vandals, And Vermin
    Crews, Cops, And Cabals
    Scourges Of The Galaxy
    Champions Of The North

*Shrugs* More prewritten NPC's. I'll probably poke my nose in these, but I'm not likely to buy them... Depends on how they end up in print. I prefer more genericly useful writeups, to allow easy customizaton.

    Pulp Resource Guide
    Enchanted Items
    Danger Zones
    Aarn: City Of Adventure

Settings and GM's aids. Always a good idea. I'd probably be willing to spend my hard earned $ on these, depending on what genre's I'm currently interested in.

    The Ultimate Energy Projector
The ultimate books are always cool

    Post-Apocalyptic Hero
W00t!!!! About time!!!!! I am SO happy to see this take its place on the upcoming. Sorry Mike, but I am much more excited to see HERO's first PA genre book rather than another Cyberhero... largely because CH is as much a Dark Champs/Star Hero cross genre setting as it is it's own genre. I'd still like for CH to rear its head, but I think DoJ made the right call putting this one on the release sechdule.
    Lands Of Mystery
W00t, redeux! My ATF JI book, and IMO one of the best written RPG suppliments ever. I really hope the esteemed AA is actually onboard, but even if his contribution is simply reprinting sections from his old text, this suppliment deserves to be ressurected

    Lucha Libre Hero
Meh. Does nothing for me at all. Probably won't even look at it, and will be EXTREMELY annoyed if it becomes the sole repository of any really good paradigm shifting optional rules.... nothing I hate more than having to shell out $ for 2 pages of a book I'd otherwise avoid like a case of crabs.

    in summary...
There are stories of faeries and banshees and the walking dead; but "the worst of them all," is the Fool of Forth, the Amadan-na-Briona, he whose stroke is, as death, incurable.
As to the fool in this world, the pity for him is mingled with some awe, for who knows what windows may have been opened to those who are under the moon's spell, who do not give in to our limitations, are not "bound by reason to the wheel."

    Re: The 2007 Release Schedule

Villains, Vandals, And Vermin - I'll buy if only to keep up on the universe's 21st-century developments.
Pulp Resource Guide - I'm a little tepid about this one, though I'll probably warm to it by the time release time comes around.
Enchanted Items - Some of these items might become archaeological artifacts in a SH universe!
The Ultimate Energy Projector - I've been lobbying for this one for a while.
Champions Of The North - I may or may not grab this right away; I'm undecided.
Danger Zones - Ditto. If nothing else it should bring me some ideas for good SH adventures.
Aarn: City Of Adventure - Ditto.
Post-Apocalyptic Hero - One of my "Fourth Millennium" setting ideas is post-apocalyptic, so why not?
Lucha Libre Hero - This will probably be way, way down on my priority list. (I'm sure it'll be a wild seller, though!)
Lands Of Mystery - I definitely want this. Hopefully there'll be a few pages on running a "Lost World" Star Hero campaign -- my main reason is that I'm going to be having such a planet in my SH game.
Crews, Cops, And Cabals - I think this should be a gold mind of ideas for any genre.
Scourges Of The Galaxy - Absolutely I'll be getting this. (With any luck, some of the characters I've put in DH will be in here!)
Torturing children should never be acceptable!

    Re: The 2007 Release Schedule

Villains, Vandals, And Vermin - Maybe.....ok, I'll buy
Pulp Resource Guide - I'm all 'bout da PULP! Give me MORE!!!!!
Enchanted Items - Ebay is my friend, or It's a skip.

The Ultimate Energy Projector - Yep, gotta have this.

Champions Of The North - I will check it out, maybe....
Danger Zones - Once again, my Ebay fu will come thru or I will skip it.

Aarn: City Of Adventure - Yawn, Big miss. Maybe I'll find one.
Post-Apocalyptic Hero - YES! Better than CyberHero!
Lucha Libre Hero - This is my MUST BUY of 2007! Can I pay for it now?

Lands Of Mystery - I am interested, as long as it is better than what I saw in the Champions Genre book....
Crews, Cops, And Cabals - ok, I'll check it out.

Scourges Of The Galaxy - Absolutely I'll be missing this. Maybe if one fell on me, I'd keep it.

    5 out of 12....

    Re: The 2007 Release Schedule

    I will surely buy:

    Villains, Vandals, And Vermin
The Ultimate Energy Projector (actually, this is one of the Ultimate books I most eagerly await, along with Mentalist)
    Champions Of The North
    Danger Zones
Post-Apocalyptic Hero (far more interesting than Horror, IMO)
    Crews, Cops, And Cabals
    Golden Age Hero

    I might buy:

Lands of Mystery (if it is at all feasible to rework its content for use with Champions)
Enchanted Items (ditto, if I can mine it for ideas about Champions supermages' stuff, it's a sure buy)

Sorry, not interested in Pulp stuff by itself, and I prefer other systems for Fantasy.

Fortunately, no one is going to come to your house, put a gun to your head, and force you to buy it.

Good lord, people. Some of you take this stuff so personally. There are also people who are into Lucha Libre and think this will be a cool book.

If you're not interested in it, you don't have to buy it. But you also don't have to crap on it...

I think Lucha Libre will be an interesting book if nothing else... I've really no actual interest in it, but that's from a lack of any exposure... I'm looking forward to it, doubly since it really isn't something I would've thought anyone would do.

Life is more fun with some offbwat stuff in it.

I agree here 100%. I have absolutely no interest in the genre, and will probably buy it only to be a completist (it's on my "to get" list right above The Ultimate Mystic). But I'm not going to "crap on it" at all, and I don't feel slighted for its inclusion. As I said, it'll probably be a wild seller.

    Re: The 2007 Release Schedule

My list: - And as I buy every HERO book, because I collect, I want to support HERO and I get them all at half price (I Love working at an RPG shop) here is my interest level.

Villains, Vandals, And Vermin: Villian books are good. I want this.

Pulp Resource Guide: I don't ever really plan on running pulp, so I'm not all that interested in it. It could surprise me, however.

Enchanted Items: Magical weapons and objects
Fantasy games need treasure books. It will be useful to look at the builds, and to have it to hand. Fairly interested.

The Ultimate Energy Projector: Oh Yeah! I love the ultimate books, and this one looks nifty.

Champions Of The North: Not a huge fan of the CU, but I like sourcebooks, and best of all written by Scott Bennie. If nothing else that kicks it up to high interest.

Danger Zones: I really don't like Dark Champions, but this could be useful for any modern setting, so it is of mid/high interest.

    Aarn: City Of Adventure:
This could be good. I like the TA much more than the Valdoran, and seeing the whole city would be cool. Mid-insterest.

Post-Apocalyptic Hero: This is a high interest item. I've always loved post apoc games and books. Second most anticpated book of this year.

    Lucha Libre Hero:
Well we have a niche that really hasn't been covered - almost sounds like a Forge Indy game. I love it. Could be really wonderful, and I figure it will be a cult hit or a bomb. But I want one.

Lands Of Mystery: Number one of the year. The original was one of the best books ever released for HERO, and Allston is on board. I am already bouncing in anticpation.

Crews, Cops, And Cabals: I like this. Something that could be very interesting. Mid interest.

Scourges Of The Galaxy: I love SF. I love Star Hero. I want this one.

Also if the Fiction collection from 2006 does well there will likely be another in the first quarter of 2007.
I hope not. I'd rather see time, energy and money going into more game books.

Golden Age Hero will probably out late Fall 2007. Then Darren will start on Silver Age Hero. I love comic books, and I love genre books, these are both fairly high anticipation. Even if half the book is the CU in those eras.

No, we don't want that. With all the number crunching, people would start comparing it to FATAL.
