Of the stuff listed ... there's maybe a few things that interest me beyond Champions of the North. I have to count myself among the people not interested in LLH. Sorry guys, just doesn't interest me ...

Not sure if history can be a guide here. After all, as the game gets refined, there is less and less that is changable/improvable; at some point it could be hoped that the changes can be supplimentary rather than radical replacement (i.e. new edition of the core rules). OTOH, there may be at least one more full edition of the rules left to be worked out and published, so your concerns may well be fully founded. In which case, let us hope that it's closer to 2014 than 2009.Originally Posted by megaplayboy

I'd prefer to see the next edition be much more streamlined, rather than extended further. We already have 600 pages, not to mention lots of additional material in other books.
It is unclear why the bear, which was wearing ice skates at the time, attacked Mr Potapov. The bear was later shot by police. Deadly attacks are rare in the country's circuses, which often train bears to wear skates and play ice hockey.

Not so much extension as significant refinements of the existing core rules. And, considering the content of the 5e genre and Ultimate books (e.g. the compilation of the Combat Handbook) Hero 6e would likely need to be a multi-volume set.
Speculation - the core rules book would look something like Sidekick, i.e., the very basics of play. Expansion books would add further options ala the Ultimate books. Genre books would look a lot like they do today. Setting books ditto.
This makes the 'cost of entry', both in cash terms and in terms of rules volume, significantly lower, as well as creating a built in market for those of us Hero veterans who crave the advanced options. (OTOH, you get those who want a single, all-inclusive volume who will complain about 'having' to buy multiple books.)

I for one would love to see this. I've already got the Big Black Book, of course, but I think having a smaller Core Rules book would make entry into the system much easier for newbies. As it is now, people are going to be reluctant to drop $50 on a game system until they're already hooked. DOJ wouldn't have to give it away at Sidekick prices, but I don't think $20 would be unreasonable.Originally Posted by Peregrine
Back on topic - what happened to Solar Hero? Pushed back or cancelled, anyone know?
I don't think I've ever complained about Swedish Meatballs.
Heck, I could go for two volumes of that too.
Solar Hero has never been announced as being on any year's schedule. It has just been mentioned as a possible future project, but given poor sales on the Star Hero line, I supect it is unlikely to appear on the schedule any time soon.Originally Posted by bigdamnhero
Bummer. I for one thought it sounded like a neat book. Ah well. Thanks for the info.Originally Posted by rjcurrie
The reality is that there are more good books that could be published for Hero than can be written and sold - due both to lack of available authors (there are only so many good authors out there, and all of them aren't working for Hero) and lack of potential demand (sales of a given line is a good indicator of the demand for other books in the same line). We simply have to realize that every book we want to see isn't going to come out when we want them to, if at all.
