Thread: What are the "Cosmic Cubes" of the 5th Ed CU?

    Question What are the "Cosmic Cubes" of the 5th Ed CU?

    I got to thinking on some possible plots that would require a cosmic cube like object. Since I use the official setting (with some minor changes) I'm trying to see what already exists that might serve the same purposes.

    One's so far...

    The Basilisk Orb mentioned in DEMON, currently missing, and it requires a rather long ritual.

    The Jade Mirror that alters reality, I forget where it was mentioned. It was smashed though.

    Any others I'm forgetting?

    In the Marvel Universe, these are powerful reality altering devices filled with cosmic power....in the shape of a cube naturally(though they can be in any number of forms to be honest).

    If your listed age is correct, another example that might ring some bells is the Autobot Matrix of Leadership from Transformers.

    Hmmm, I think the Dragon Crown and the other Crowns of Krim tend to have more of a 'Tolkien' feel, imo, rather than being analogues to the Cosmic Cube but ymmv...

    I alwasy pictured them more as Serpent Crowns from Marvel Comics.

    That's funny. I have my players trying to stop The Crowns of Krim from getting The Tablets of Destiny right now in my game.

    I think the scattered pieces of The Mandragalore's fuel core would work nicely as a Cosmic cube if they are all reassembled. For more info you should look on page 126 of Hidden Lands.

    I seem to recall somewhere that the cosmic cubes are actually villain-destroying devices--they just have their reputation to draw villains to them.

    For those who haven't read the mystic world....can we get a summary descript of some of these items. I don't want the full entry type anything, just a clue.

    Spear of Destiny - i know this one

    Tablets of Destiny - ??? What are these supposed to do?

    Also, are there any non-mystic cosmic super-weapons in the CU? maybe mentioned in Galactic Champions?
