The government forgets that George Orwell's 1984 was a warning and not a blueprint. - Chris Hunhe, Liberal Democrats, UK
Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, diagnosing it incorrectly, and applying the wrong remedies. - Groucho Marx

Thank you. I've been reading it all weekend. It's amazing - up there with Schlock Mercenary and Casey and Andy. Which is to say, I think I like it even better than Order of the Stick.
Lucius Alexander
The palindromedary notes that at first they seemed to be conflating chaos and evil, then made it explicit that the bad guys aren't evil because they're chaotic, they're evil because they're chaotic and out of balance...

I should be reading. Instead of that I've been catching up with Something Positive, and I don't even remember why I started reading it, it isn't normally my thing, but it's been darn funny.

Interesting....
Nihil tam absurde dici potest, quod non dicatur ab aliquo philosophorum.
Did you guys catch the strip from last week with Firestorm? That moment during the card game killed me...
"Yoinkth, and away!"
-Daffy Duck, "Robin Hood Daffy"
"There he goes: one of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and yet too rare to die."
-Raoul Duke (aka. Hunter S. Thompson), "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas"
"Ohhhh... Somebody left the cake out in the rain..."
-The Tick, "Leonardo DaVinci and his Fightin' Genius Time Commandos"
Yes, and for those few days I had "Tonight's OOTS strip has a super-hero reference." in my sigline to call attention to it![]()

Ah, yes! I thought I saw that somewhere! I was surprised when I didn't see a post here about it...

Eosin- ~ "'Wrong' is a D&Dism ~ 'I do it this way' is a Heroism."
SCUBA Hero- "If you did Turn the Palindromedary, how would you know?"
Roxanna: I need a margarita.
Niels: I don't think Dwarves make mixed drinks.
Ithan: That's because when Dwarves mix their alcohol, they get fire and explosions!
It would be wonderful. It would be like that scene in that movie that everyone quotes where the one guy says something awesome to the other guy.
Firestorm is a third tier DC superhero. Popular during some runs, but not well known enough for most non-supers geeks to recognize him.
He was the red and yellow guy at playing cards with Green Lantern and Batman.
I think the joke was that if the name Firestorm does mean anything to you then it feels really funny calling the spell by that name. Kind of like naming an armor spell "Ironman" or a strength spell "the Hulk"
Cause a joke is always funnier when you explain it....
WW: "We have Einstein's Brain? I thought that was at Princeton Hospital?"
MM: "Transylvania 6-5000 Dubbie! Do you really think we'd leave that hanging around a bunch of Frat boys with Mono?"
WW: "So, whose brain does Princeton have?"
MM: "The only woman smart enough to kill Einstein"
-- Wendy Watson learns another useful fact from the Middle Man
"I wish this was a democracy so I could vote for that guy!"

What is his stance on the palindromedary issue?
"See it's not that the Democrats are playing checkers and the Republicans are playing chess, it's that the Republicans are playing chess and the Democrats are in the nurse's office because once again they glued their balls to their thighs." - Jon Stewart
