That last page is a vicious dig on the "Collectible Miniatures" game and the use of the minis as a playing aid.

I once had a DM who had a massive collection of the things and also a distributorship to sell them. He used them in play at times, but not in a long campaign precisely because he didn't want to have to match charatcers to figures.

Hehheh. I was amused, given my tendencies to use Heroclix as miniatures in Champions.

It would be wonderful. It would be like that scene in that movie that everyone quotes where the one guy says something awesome to the other guy.

Catching up on this comic. I just hit this one:

"I'm a sexy, shoeless god of war!" will no doubt appear on many, many sig files from here on out.

In D&D 3.0/3.5 if the encounter difficulty is very far below your level you get no xp.

Can you still get a role-playing bonus, for uttering something like the "I am a sexy shoeless god of war"?
The PCs are rootin', tootin' kittens living in this very town who, with flamethrowers, fight the enemies of the State for electrum pieces...or so it would seem.

You can get xp for anything the DM darn well feels like giving them out for, despite attempts to state the contrary for D&D traditionalists.

As DM, I'd give him a role playing XP reward, and maybe even a quest reward if his action helped turn the tide of the battle.

I have to say one of my favourite parts is Belkar's exclamations.

Funny, that's exactly the thought that went through my mind while reading it.
