Disregard previos post. Let's try this version of the question

    Darkness or Flash?
Why buy any amount of Flash when you could buy:

Darkness to Sight Group 1" radius, Personal Immunity (+1/4), Ranged (+1/2), Reduced Endurance 0 END (+1/2), Usable As Attack (+1)

    For 32 points?

I don't understand how someone escapes from this. It seems to me that as long as you make your initial attack roll the target is blind until they leave the range of the attack, in this case 150", leave LoS, or the attacker is knocked out.

This is a "how to" or "tactical" question, and so not really appropriate for the 5E Questions board. I've moved it so others can chime in as desired.

Page 348, metarule number 5: "One Power should not be used to do what another Power already does." That's why.

It's inferior to Flash in some ways. It's going to block your allies from seeing the target too; it's going to block LOS through that hex for them; it's going to evaporate if you're even Stunned, as that will turn off 0 END powers; line of sight isn't hard to break - turning you around will do it; and you're going to have to define a reasonably common defense to it (presumably not including "not getting hit", "Stunning the attacker", or "having non-Sight Targeting Senses"). You end up getting what you pay for.

But more than anything else, you're going to need GM permission on it at least once over, and if it looks like you're just trying to get Flash on the cheap, I doubt you're going to get it.

Because it compares so closely to Flash, I would insist that the common defense which shuts it down be common and/or easy enough to balance the power with Flash.
"Similarly, don't get hung up trying to figure out the 'exact right way' to build something using the Hero System rules..." (6E2 277).

    Yeah, that'll happen.

Because I'd rather buy Invisibility to sight with no fringe at 0 END and get the same effect vs everyone at once. It costs more but can't be stopped by LOS or range and my opponent can't dive for cover to evade it.
